• This position is responsible for independently validating IFRS 9 and Credit Risk models to ensure they are conceptually sound, properly implemented, and compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role also includes monitoring model risks throughout each stage of the model lifecycle.
• Conduct independent validation of Credit Risk models and IFRS 9 models, including PD, LGD, EAD, SICR, Forward-Looking (FL), and ECL calculation methodologies, to ensure models perform as expected and align with regulatory and business objectives.
• Identify model limitations, weaknesses, and assumptions, and assess the potential impact of those identified model risks.
• Collaborate with model developers, Finance, Risk, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate model risks and compliance issues.
• Review and monitor model risks throughout the model lifecycle, including model implementation, ongoing monitoring, recalibration, and periodic validation.
• Document validation results, findings, and recommendations, and communicate outcomes to senior management and Risk Management Committee.
• Stay up to date with IFRS 9 requirements, regulatory expectations, industry best practices, and emerging modeling methodologies and techniques.
• Bachelor's degree in quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in IFRS 9 model validation, model development, credit risk modeling, model risk management, internal audit, or related fields.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to IFRS 9, Basel, and Model Risk Management.
• Understanding of IFRS 9 ECL framework, including PD, LGD, EAD, SICR, and Forward-Looking methodologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SAS, or PySpark.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
