Job purpose:

To develop innovative beverage flavour applications while ensuring product quality, food safety, and alignment with market trends. The role also supports the Application Lab Manager in coaching and training application technologists, participates in sensory evaluation activities across APAC, maintains laboratory standards and equipment, and contributes to efficient project management and a sustainable laboratory working system.

• Develop innovative beverage flavour applications while ensuring product quality, food safety, and market trends.

• Specialize in beverage applications.

• Develop beverage concepts and application prototypes for customer projects, trade shows, and proactive innovation projects

• Select and apply suitable flavours based on customer requirements and product specifications.

• Formulate new and innovative beverage recipes and application concepts.

• Work closely with the Sales team to ensure project outcomes meet customer expectations.

• Manage short-, medium-, and long-term application projects efficiently while considering market trends and customer needs.

• Stay updated on beverage market trends, consumer insights, and emerging technologies.

• Actively participate in the Essentially Creative Group and APAC Sensory Panel.

• Support the Application Lab Manager in coaching and developing the application team.

• Provide technical support and guidance to Application Technologists as required.

• Support team members during periods of high project workload.

• Assist the Application Lab Manager in training new employees, interns, and trainees on laboratory procedures and application techniques.

• Represent the Application Lab Manager when assigned or during the manager's absence.

• Share technical knowledge and best practices with the application team to strengthen overall capability.

• Participate in sensory evaluation and training activities across APAC

• Serve as an expert sensory panel member.

• Participate in sensory evaluation, sensory analysis, and sensory training activities within APAC.

• Prepare application samples and demo kits for sensory projects and customer presentations.

• Support continuous improvement of sensory evaluation methods and standards.

• Maintain laboratory standards, cleanliness, and equipment

• Prepare and maintain equipment checklists and laboratory cleaning schedules.

• Ensure laboratory cleanliness and compliance with food safety, quality, and laboratory standards.

• Coordinate routine inspection, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment.

• Ensure laboratory materials and equipment are properly maintained and available for daily operations.

• Improve project efficiency and laboratory systems

• Monitor project timelines to ensure on-time completion of application projects.

• Support the development and continuous improvement of laboratory project management systems.

• Assist in improving laboratory communication and documentation systems.

• Support the development of flavour promotion activities and application showcases.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory productivity and operational efficiency.

Qualifications needed:

• Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Food Technology, Product Development, Chemistry, Science & Flavour Related Fields

• Minimum of 3 - 6 Year Working Experience

• Good Interpersonal Skills

• Curious, Creative, Well-organized and Well-discipline

• Well-adapted in Multi-national Environment

• Beverage Enthusiast

• Computer Skills (Microsoft, Excel, etc.)
