Business Development Manager - SEATW

The position manages the business development and sales of a strategic product portfolio and a strategic market opportunity across SEATW in accordance with approved business development, sales and marketing plans. The Business Development Manager will successfully partner with commercial leaders to drive the commercialization of key products in new markets to achieve or exceed the assigned business sales plan. This role is intended to identify new products, new segment and new opportunities in SEATW and to build plan and lead its execution by partnering closely with commercial leaders, marketing team and other stakeholders. This would also include developing SEATW business plans to ensure key strategic opportunities are captured effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development, Sales Strategies, Plan & Execute to achieve Targets

  • Determine products or new market opportunities and develop strategies to bring products to market to meet those identified opportunities.
  • Develop a business development plan for the above identified opportunities (from products or market perspectives), gain stakeholder alignment and partnering with commercial leaders to drive the implementation of the aligned plan to exceed sales targets.
  • Determine new opportunities from clinical vertical initiatives and lead its execution to generate additional business
  • Work closely with marketing team in aligning and executing marketing strategies to support new opportunities.
  • Making a substantial contribution and being responsible for forecasting, funnel management and setting sales territory budgets.
  • Reporting regularly on actual orders and sales relative to the plan with variance analysis, being able to review at a division reporting level to provide division insights into the region. Developing and executing on corrective actions to close any gaps to expectations.
  • Managing the annual price agreement renewal process with accounts, working with business partners to implement solutions and achieve price targets.
  • Managing key sales processes, including; tenders, quoting, sales funnels, forecasting, CRM, mobility, territory and account planning, account reviews and driving excellence in process that enable the team and the customers.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Identify key customers and develop targeted strategies for each key customer aligned with market/product development strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities and work with company resources to develop sales potential

Product / Market Knowledge

  • Constantly develop product knowledge through company literature and other independent sources of technical information.
  • Obtain and report information of market trends, competitive promotions and other activities from the market that may aid the business activity.
    Budgets/target
  • Essential to meet Revenue and Gross Profit sales targets as set each year for the defined territory and contribute to the achievement of the region goals.

How will you get here?

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent, preferably in science or equivalent would be preferential or experience covering business planning
  • At least 10 years relevant experience in a business development in IVD environment in Southeast Asia. A positive and enthusiastic attitude with a passion for sales and achieving results (Adaptability, Competitive, Ensures accountability, Passionate)
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity to develop and execute action plan
  • An ability to think strategically and laterally to maximize business opportunities, profitability, and customer potential
  • Goal orientated, with strong sales attributes, a demonstrated track record of and passion for sales success. Ability to think strategically and laterally in order to maximize business opportunities and market potential. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to report clearly and concisely and manage accurate sales forecasting
  • An ability to understand technical products and related markets/customers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
