Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical design of fiber-optic pump packages and components
- Mechanical design of fixture/tooling and equipment for fiber-optic component manufacturing
- Generate conceptual design, layout, prototyping, bill of materials, piece part and assembly drawings
- Working closely with optical, process and device engineers for design optimization and NPI (New Production Introduction)
- Interact with vendors for piece parts specification, procurement, and quality assurance
- Select vendors and complete first article qualification
- Perform component qualification and generate reports
- Document engineering reports, engineering drawings, and equipment design specifications
