APAC and India Sustainability Strategy Manager

Strategy plays a critical role in shaping our sustainable foods system agenda and achieving our sustainability goals. This role will focus on defining, streamlining and evolving overall strategy and transformation plans across all pep+ goals by providing overall governance to cross-functional teams to embed sustainability in our business processes and drive the holistic agenda execution across the region.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive overall governance across region and OU Office of Sustainability teams and cross-functional sustainability task forces with regular meeting cadences, progress tracking and performance reporting.
  • Provide thought leadership to sustainability and business partners, including the Executive Committee, and other operating leaders on a broad range of business-critical sustainability topics.
  • Manage, direct, advise and/or influence cross-functional/ cross-sector teams to shape, develop, advocate, implement, or accelerate implementation of sustainability goals.
  • Provide central guidance to design and drive long-term (5-10 years) PepsiCo positive roadmaps and AOP exercises, ensure consistency across multiple pillars and goals covering Foods & Beverages portfolio across all Company owned & Franchise businesses.
  • Analyze external trends on environmental issues by staying on top of consumer, competitive, and macroeconomic/geopolitical trends and incorporate the insights in our strategic plans.
  • Partner with Pillar leads for capacity & capability building for the Sustainability function (e.g., Recruiting, Training, Knowledge Management, etc.).
  • Identify and deconstruct business issues and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analyses.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and significant influence management skills with the ability to gain credibility with Sr Leadership while challenging the status quo.
  • Own “Executive-ready” project deliverables and Develop/ Manage regions Executive Committee updates and other communications.
  • Lead internal and external engagmenet and communication on pep+ with cross-functional teams including townhalls, external events, franchise conferences etc.
  • Partner with Sustainability Office Pillar leads for capacity & capability building for the entire sector Sustainability function (e.g., Recruiting, Training, Knowledge Management, etc.).
  • Drive connection with global Sustainability Office.
Qualifications:
  • BA required; MBA or another graduate school degree strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years overall experience; strategy or consumer packaged goods experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, experience, and/or strong interest and capacity to understand technicalities of PepsiCo Sustainability goals.
  • Technical knowledge of food and beverage environmental impact and solutions and external environmental policy landscape.
  • Matrix Management- Ability to network internally, to collaborate and influence with the many teams & stakeholders that are necessary to contribute to our agenda, bringing them together toward common goals.
  • Think strategically, communicate clearly, see connections, and anticipate future opportunities and challenges.
  • Strong Change Management & Project Management experience coupled with good analytical abilities.
  • Mature influencing, negotiating and communication skills
  • Independence in handling complicated tasks and coordination with strong problem solving abilities and networking skills.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity combined with the desire to seek knowledge when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an individual and within a team, across multiple cultures.
