Role Overview

At Fastwork, quality is a team sport. Our Quality Assurance Engineers work closely with engineering, product, and design to reduce risk early, improve testability, strengthen automation, and help teams ship faster with confidence. This is not a traditional “test-after-dev” QA role — it is a chance to shape how quality happens across the product lifecycle.

You’ll get to work across web, mobile, API, backend, and release workflows, while experimenting with tools, frameworks, and practices that improve both product quality and team velocity.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be a key partner in building reliable, scalable, and user-friendly products. You will join conversations early — from requirement review and solution design through implementation, release, and production learning — to ensure quality is considered from the beginning.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on testing and system thinking: someone who can spot risks early, ask sharp questions, design smart test strategies, and help teams create fast feedback loops through automation and better engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers early to identify risks, edge cases, and gaps before development is complete.
• Design practical, risk-based test strategies across web, mobile, API, and backend systems.
• Build and maintain automated test coverage at the right layers, including integration, API, and end-to-end tests.
• Improve CI/CD quality gates and feedback loops to enable teams to move quickly without losing confidence.
• Support exploratory, regression, and release testing where human judgment matters most.
• Analyze defects, flaky tests, and production issues to drive long-term quality improvements.
• Help improve testability, release confidence, and visibility into quality across teams.
• Understand system design, architecture, and service interactions to create more effective test plans and improve overall product quality.
• Design and execute performance, load, and stress tests using tools like k6 or JMeter.
• Participate in requirement analysis and system design discussions to identify edge cases, risks, and testability early (shift-left testing).
• Advocate for quality as a shared responsibility, not just the work of one function.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in QA, or test automation in modern software teams.
• Strong understanding of test strategy, risk-based testing, and defect prevention.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Jest, Playwright, Patrol, and API testing tools.
• Familiarity with web applications, mobile apps, backend APIs, and databases.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate well across functions.
• A curious, analytical, proactive mindset with a passion for building better products.
• Familiarity with system design and software architecture, or a strong willingness to learn how complex systems work in order to improve testing quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance and load testing.
• Experience working in a shift-left or quality engineering culture.
• Familiarity with observability, incident learning, or production quality metrics.
