JOB TITLE: Data Center Network Engineer (NICON)

We are seeking a Network Engineer (NICON) to design, implement, and maintain network systems that ensure seamless data center operations. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement advanced technologies, and optimize critical network infrastructure. This role requires technical expertise, construction oversight, and program management skills to ensure seamless execution of fiber optics, low-voltage telecom/security systems, and structured cabling. You will serve as the primary liaison between internal owner teams and external stakeholders while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.

This Full-time role will require on-site with travel as required

Key Responsibilities

· Construction project/program management experience with fiber optic systems and low voltage telecom/security, preferably in the data center environment

· Experience reviewing construction documents for technical accuracy and feasibility

· Demonstrated ability to work with and lead internal/external cross-functional and partner teams to develop scope, project plan, budgets, and schedules

· Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale projects on-time, on/under budget, with a clear emphasis on safety and quality

· Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design build processes and associated documents and contracts.

· Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling and achieving objectives on schedule within budget.

· Experience in identifying and managing risk, evaluating and responding to change requests, responding to Requests for Information (RFI’s), developing requests for proposals (RFPs), scheduling projects, cost engineering, budgeting and forecasting costs, reporting project status and costs, procurement and in negotiating with contractors and vendors.

· In-depth knowledge of fiber optic testing standards and equipment

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, networks, or a related field is preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of experience focused on managing telecommunications, low-voltage and fiber-optics construction scopes of work.

· Experience with fiber optics, low-voltage telecom, and security systems

· Experience in data centers or mission-critical environments preferred

· Strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings for network infrastructure projects

· Certifications such as BICSI, RCDD, RTPM, or PMP are highly desired.

· Strong problem-solving abilities to identify issues and propose effective solutions.

· Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and vendors.

· Ability to work well within a team environment while also being capable of taking initiative when necessary.
