Key Responsibility

• Provide input to the existing asset investment strategy, use local knowledge and mapping analysis and ensure recommendations are aligned with new store strategy for the region
• Visit and assess trading stores using provided tools to plan, analyse and explore store catchment. Provide solid judgement on the potential for new investment to drive performance
• Justify existing store sales forecasts through local understanding, trade analysis, and risk assessment considering change in customer behaviour over time
• Present and provide sound recommendation on existing store investment through quality reporting
• Track competitor movement, measure and report impact incurred to both current and future stores in pipeline in your respective area
• Ensure the competitor information in the respective areas are up to date and accurately recorded in the database
• Excel in sales forecast accuracy and contribute to the post opening review of major store refit investments through customer survey, clubcard analysis, sales analysis. Collaborate with marketing and other teams to provide balanced reviews with actionable insight.
• Provide balanced assessment of future trading prospects for lease renewal and cash negative stores being considered for potential closure
• Co-ordinate surveys of existing store car parking to ensure sufficient spaces are provided for customers while releasing surplus space for redvelopment or disposal. Understand the changes in requirement for differing major anchor tenants and mall extension opportunities
• Lead own store projects in NWT, NWT AMD and attend AMD, TPM, future store and impairment meetings as required
• Build links with cross-functional team members in operations, SRD, marketing and property to have a broad understanding of store performance and potential for improved sales
• Be professional at maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ business development function experience in retails, research, marketing, economic or related fields.
• Be able to lead projects and tracking timeline until the end of the process
• Can travelling to upcountry and stay overnight alone
