Data Engineers are mainly tasked with transforming data into a format that can be easily analyzed by developing, maintaining, and testing infrastructures for data generation. Data Engineers work closely with Data Scientists and are largely in charge of architecting solutions

• Manage data from ingestion through ETL to storage and batch processing
• Automate, test and harden all data workflows using tools
• Help build and maintain an enterprise data warehouse platform with its associated data models, ETL processes and data architecture requirements
• Constantly evaluate and optimize deployment of data models to achieve greater efficiency and reliability
• Build cross functional relationships with data analytic teams and business leaders to understand their requirements and data needs
• Interact and integrate with internal and external teams and systems to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of sources
• Participate in rotational on-call support and provide ongoing maintenance of all data infrastructure
• Assist with ad hoc data investigations and analysis

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field
• 1 - 2 years current experience with writing SQL queries and performance tuning
• 1 - 2 years of data modeling and ETL development experience
• Demonstrate familiarity with data warehouse concepts.
• Solid understanding of database theory and architecture
• Knowledgeable in scripting languages (Python, R, Perl, etc.)
• Understanding cloud data warehousing technologies (Snowflake or Redshift)
• Familiarity with BI and analytics tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate advanced critical thinking and trouble-shooting capabilities to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement tasks and solutions effectively, including the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
• Must be self-directed and able to function both independently and as part of a team
• Have a basic understanding of data governance and master data management principles
