HR

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Drive process optimization initiatives to improve productivity, capacity utilization, yield, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for manufacturing processes and provide technical guidance to engineering and production teams.
  • Lead manufacturing process planning and readiness activities for new products and model changes.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and OEM stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and production personnel.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Drive quality- focused initiatives to ensure products and processes meet customer expectations.


Knowledge responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise of automotive assembly processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and components
  • Evaluate and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Experience with change control systems and workflows.
  • Ability to maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM) accurately.
  • Review and approve manufacturing process documentation including SOPs, Work Instructions, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and engineering standards.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple assembly plants and departments.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for project tracking (e.g., Excel, SAP, PLM systems).
  • Ability to generate reports and dashboards for change status and impact.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and PLM tools.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

Functional responsibilities

  • Process Strategy & Optimization
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Drive process optimization initiatives to improve productivity, capacity utilization, yield, and operational efficiency.
  • Define process standards and best practices across manufacturing operations.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing competitiveness.
  • Technical Leadership & Problem Solving
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for manufacturing processes and provide technical guidance to engineering and production teams.
  • Support escalation management and ensure timely resolution of critical Launch/production challenges.
  • Apply data-driven methodologies to improve process stability and performance.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) & Industrialization
  • Lead manufacturing process planning and readiness activities for new products and model changes.
  • Develop process flows, line layouts, capacity plans, and manufacturing requirements for product launches.
  • Coordinate pilot builds, trial runs, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Ensure smooth transition from development phase to mass production.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and OEM stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and decision-making between departments to ensure project success.
  • Support regional and global engineering alignment where required.
  • Process Performance & Data Analytics
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including OEE, FPY, cycle time, downtime, scrap rate, and productivity metrics.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and process control tools to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, business cases, and performance reviews to management.
  • Documentation, Standards & Compliance
  • Review and approve manufacturing process documentation including SOPs, Work Instructions, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and engineering standards.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain process change management records and ensure traceability of all process modifications.
  • Manufacturing Equipment & Automation
  • Lead equipment selection, procurement support, installation, qualification, and commissioning activities.
  • Evaluate and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality.
  • Support long-term manufacturing capacity and technology planning.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Develop and execute cost reduction projects through waste elimination, process simplification, and resource optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve labor productivity, material utilization, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Team Development & Coaching
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and production personnel.
  • Support competency development and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.
  • Lead by example in technical excellence and professional conduct.
  • Safety, Quality & Professional Conduct
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Drive quality-focused initiatives to ensure products and processes meet customer expectations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and effective communication in all interactions.
  • Foster collaboration, teamwork, and positive employee engagement across the organization

Financial

Responsibilities

  • Developing Program Budgets: Program managers collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to create comprehensive budgets that align with the program's goals and organizational objectives.
  • Budget Monitoring and Control: They track program expenditures against the budget, identify variances, and take corrective actions to stay within budget constraints.


Internal/ External Interactions

Internal:

  • Internally with KD team members, ADC, RMAAC, KNT, CML TEAM for understanding/implementing the program, facility, layout preparations, tooling development, training etc.


External:

  • OEM partners, Suppliers for development of tooling and commissioning exercise
  • Overseas plants for implementing the change in process, facility, layout preparations, tooling development, training etc.

Background and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering Automotive/Mechanical.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience or internship in a manufacturing or engineering environment is a plus.
