Job Purpose

Technical Assistant

assists geologists and geophysicists in transferring data into project G&G database system, preparing final geophysical and geological maps, drawing, drafting and other technical supporting tasks e.g. technical reports and graphic presentations as assigned by subsurface users or other department users. In addition, he/she needs to maintain and update filing system of technical data and documents as per E&P business standard

Key Accountabilities

Assist geologists and geophysicists in preparing various kinds of final geological and geophysical maps, transferring data into project database systems and other supporting systems.

Collect, compile, verify and load technical data into technical database systems such as general well data, geological well data (directional survey, side wall core, reservoir, net pay, maker etc.), well log curve data (edit log), drilling data (daily drilling, weekly and monthly drilling), and all technical reports.

Create and produce preliminary or detailed technical drawings and drafting as assigned by team lead.

Create the standard well file structure for individual wells.

Prepare various technical reports, handouts and presentation graphics for asset and/or project meetings.

Establish, maintain filing and storage systems for all technical data and materials

as E&P business standard.

Provide technical assistance services and support to

geologists/geophysicists

and staff as required.

Professional Knowledge & Experiences

Bachelor's Degree in Geography or related fields

Knowledge in basic Petroleum E&P Operations

3+

years of experience in oil and gas industry

Ability to use geological and GIS software on Workstation and PC computer

Good command of written and spoken English

Interpersonal and customer service skills
