Position:

Dormitory School Nurse

Reporting to:

School Director and Deputy Director for Administrative Services

Working Hours:

5:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. (Overnight duty with residential responsibility in the dormitory)

The Dormitory School Nurse will follow the dormitory support staff calendar, foundation period, and participate in school events involving students, including Open House, academic testing, camps, and other student-related activities as required.

Responsibilities:

• Medical Care

Provide medical care and treatment for minor injuries and illnesses in the sickbay.

Provide first aid in more serious cases before the student is transferred to a hospital.

Administer medication to students as authorized by parents/guardians.

In cases of serious illness or injury, notify parents/guardians to collect the student from school or arrange transportation to a hospital.

Maintain a daily written record of all medical treatments provided to students and staff, and submit reports to the Deputy Director and/or School Director.

Prepare a termly summary report for the Deputy Director and/or School Director detailing the number of students using the sickbay and the services provided.

Inform parents/guardians in writing when their child has experienced a medical issue, illness, or accident.

Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic sickbay environment.

Ensure that all medicines are securely stored and locked and that medication is only administered by qualified personnel.

Prepare and maintain first aid kits for educational visits and special events.

Check and record students' height and body weight twice a year and provide reports to parents/guardians.

Ensure that students' medical information is updated by parents/guardians at the beginning of each academic year.

Ensure that information regarding the school's health services is accurate and kept up to date.

• Dormitory Residential

Responsibilities

Provide overnight medical support and emergency response for boarding students.

Monitor students' health conditions during dormitory hours and provide appropriate care when required.

Maintain communication with dormitory staff and school leadership regarding student health concerns.

Support a safe, healthy, and caring residential environment for all boarding students.

• Curriculum Support

Assist in delivering relevant sections of the school's PSHE (Personal, Social, and Health

Education) curriculum.

Make professional medical judgments regarding whether a student is fit to attend classes or participate in school activities.

• Child Protection

Liaise with relevant Thai authorities in cases involving significant concerns related to student safety, health, or child protection.

Follow and comply with the school's safeguarding, child protection, and student welfare policies and procedures.

Monitor students' health and well-being during overnight dormitory stays and report any concerns to the appropriate school leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a valid professional nursing license.

Candidates have full working rights in Thailand.

Previous experience as a school nurse, pediatric nurse, or healthcare professional in an educational setting is preferred.

Knowledge and skills in first aid, student health care, and emergency response procedures.

Ability to work overnight shifts and reside in the student dormitory.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, staff, and relevant stakeholders.

High level of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to student well-being.

Good command of English communication skills (for an international school environment).
