Key Responsibilities

• Civil & Structural Design Ownership
• Lead civil and structural design for solar PV projects including:

o Rooftop solar (industrial, commercial buildings)

o Ground-mounted solar PV systems

• Prepare and review:

o Structural layouts and foundation drawings

o Mounting structure design (steel / aluminum)

o Foundation systems (pile, concrete footing, ballast)

• Assess existing building structures and loading capacity for rooftop solar
• Ensure compliance with:

o Local building codes and civil/structural standards

o Project specifications and safety requirements

• Optimize civil design for structural safety, constructability, and cost efficiency
• Site Assessment & Engineering Validation
• Review and validate site survey data including:

o Soil conditions

o Building drawings and as-built structures

o Roof types and conditions

• Conduct or support structural calculations and load analysis
• Identify civil risks and propose mitigation measures early in the project lifecycle
• Quantity Take-Off & Cost Estimation
• Prepare BOQ, material take-offs, and cost estimates for civil and structural scope
• Estimate costs for:

o Mounting structures

o Foundations and civil works

o Civil installation labor

o Temporary works and site preparation

• Support EPC pricing, PPA projects, and tender submissions with accurate civil cost data
• Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce cost without compromising safety
• Technical Support for Proposal & Tender
• Act as civil engineering lead during:

o Proposal preparation

o Tender submissions

o Technical clarifications with clients, consultants, or investors

• Review civil-related technical requirements and advise sales team on:

o Feasibility

o Design approach

o Cost and schedule impact

• Engineering Coordination & Construction Support
• Coordinate with:

o Electrical / M&E engineers

o Project managers

o Procurement and construction teams

• Support pre-construction handover and resolve civil-related issues
• Provide engineering support during construction and installation when require
• Standards, Quality & Continuous Improvement
• Develop and maintain:

o Civil design standards

o BOQ and estimation templates

o Cost benchmarks and assumptions

• Support continuous improvement of engineering and estimation workflows
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical alignment within the team

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in:

o Civil Engineering

o Structural Engineering

or related engineering disciplines

Experience

• 2–4 years experience in:

o Civil and structural design

o Quantity take-off and cost estimation

o EPC or construction projects

• Experience in solar PV projects is highly preferred
• Experience in industrial or commercial building projects is an advantage
• Associate engineer licence
