About Calastone

Calastone is the largest global funds network and leading provider of technology solutions to the wealth and asset management industries.

Role Purpose

Working within DevOps, you will build, automate and maintain the CI/CD, infrastructure and configuration systems that support Calastone's engineering teams, and help apply that same discipline to the client-facing UAT and test environments our clients depend on. You will partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Database, QA, Product and Operations, and on occasion work directly with Client Delivery and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions) and their usage across development and infrastructure teams.

• Maintain and enhance Helm charts and Chef cookbooks; deploy and troubleshoot Kubernetes applications.

• Deliver well-scoped Azure infrastructure changes in Terraform, with design guidance from senior engineers.

• Contribute to development workstreams alongside Development, Infrastructure, Security and Database specialists.

• Maintain and extend test automation infrastructure.

• Create, configure, schedule and maintain client-facing UAT and test environments to a high standard, automating repeatable configuration wherever possible.

• Perform maintenance and upgrades to keep environments current and secure.

• Produce clear implementation guides so Operations can release client configuration into Production.

• Provide technical support to internal teams throughout the client testing lifecycle.

• Own delivery of your own tasks end to end, escalating risks early.

• Contribute to improvement initiatives led by senior team members.

Essential Knowledge and Experience

• At least 1-3 years in DevOps, platform or environments engineering

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes deployments and troubleshooting, including Helm

• Terraform or another IaC tool for cloud deployment

• GitHub Actions

• PowerShell or Bash scripting

• Azure

• Hands-on configuration management experience: Chef, Puppet or Ansible (Chef a plus)

• Configuration and management of Windows Servers

• Agile development practices

• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues

Desirable

• Messaging systems (e.g. IBM MQ)

• Basic T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server

• XML, JSON, XSLT and other file formats

• Datadog or other monitoring tool management

• Test-driven development: unit and mocking frameworks, patterns for testability

• Linux server administration

• Git or other VCS

• API testing tools (Postman/SoapUI)

• C#, SFTP, SWIFT/FIX

• Knowledge of financial services
