Fraud Analyst - Contract (Shopee)
atShopee (Thailand) Co., Ltd.The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates. The Operations team comprises Customer Service, Payment, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations and Fraud.
Job Description:
- Monitor and investigate suspicious activities to identify various forms of fraud and financial loss. Ensure all users strictly adhere to platform policies
- Review and verify the identity of new and existing sellers, including applications for "Preferred Seller" status or requests for increased withdrawal limits.
- Analyze and resolve user appeals and disputes with accuracy. Use critical thinking to provide fair outcomes while maintaining platform safety.
- Regularly use platform tools and systems to analyze fraud patterns. Maintain comprehensive databases for trend analysis to improve future operational processes.
- Act as a point of contact for internal data requests. Provide accurate information to relevant teams to help clarify issues for customers and reduce complaints.
- Identify emerging fraud trends and propose preventive measures. Develop "Lesson Learned" documents to share insights and solutions with the team.
- Analyze potential risks and coordinate effectively with related departments to ensure timely resolution and prevent escalated complaints.
- Respond to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders efficiently and professionally.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field (Graduates in Languages, Communications, Journalism, or Research fields are preferrable)
- At least 1 year of experience in Fraud Operations, Fraud Analysis, Transaction Monitoring, or a related field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to explain complex findings clearly to team members and stakeholders
- High agility with the ability to solve immediate problems effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Highly motivated, enjoys challenges, and possesses a strong sense of integrity and responsibility
- Strong command of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to work in shifts (5 days a week, including weekends and public holidays). Regular hours are 09:00 – 18:00
