Senior Human Resources Officer (Senior HR Officer)Reports to: HR Director
Works with: HR Director, School Executive Team, Leadership Team, teachers, and staff
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Human Resources officer provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all HRM and HRD functions at Keerapat International School. This includes recruitment, staff evaluation, contract management, employee relations, employee retention, training and development and compliance with Thai labor laws, Kurusapa and the Private
Education
Committee's regulations. Thepostholder ensures that HR systems and policies promote fairness, transparency, and alignment with KPIS's mission and values.
The Senior Human Resources officer plays a
key role
in maintaining an efficient, professional, and supportive working environment for both Thai and international staff, strengthening the school's organizational culture, regulatory compliance, and staff wellbeing.
Minimum
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong command of English and Thai (spoken and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with international staff.
- Solid knowledge of Thai labor laws, welfare systems, personal income tax, provident fund and social security.
- Proven experience in recruitment, contract administration, and performance management.
- Work well under pressure with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality
- Be able to provide at least 2 references
- Be able to provide a Police criminal background check report
Preferred
- Masters degree or higher in Human Resources Management.
- Direct experience in educational sector or international settings

Key Duties
and Responsibilities1. Recruitment, Contracts and Personnel Management
Work with the HR director in headcount planning. Manage the complete process of recruitment from advertising, interview up to the onboarding.
- Lead and manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, employment verification and onboarding.
- Oversee employment contracts, renewals, and terminations in compliance with related labor laws and school policies.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation including contracts, personal files, leave records, and attendance systems.
- Ensure expatriate staff are supported with visa and work permit processes through coordination with government agencies.
- Ensure all teachers and team teachers have the teaching license. Instruct and assist the teachers and team teachers to qualify for the Thai teaching license.
- Policy, Regulation, and Compliance
Develop, update, and implement HR policies, teachers' handbook, and operational procedures in accordance with Thai labor regulations and school practices.
- Ensure consistent enforcement of policies and fair treatment of staff in all HR matters.
- Provide guidance to administrators and supervisors on legal and procedural HR issues.
- Liaise with relevant government departments (Department of Labor, Immigration Bureau, Social Security Office) to maintain compliance.
- Performance Evaluation and Staff Development
Oversee and manage the staff evaluation system, ensuring consistency and transparency across all departments.
- Support leadership team and HR Director in conducting effective appraisals and providing constructive feedback including probation evaluations and yearly performance appraisals.
- Identify training needs and coordinate staff development programs that promote professional growth and capacity building.
- Encourage a culture of continuous career improvement, accountability, and engagement.
- Organizational Culture and Employee Relations
Promote positive employee relations, teamwork, and open communication throughout the school.
- Serve as a consultant to foreign and local staff on HR matters, fostering understanding and cultural sensitivity.
- Support initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing, motivation, and retention.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives that reflect KPIS's values of Communication, Collaboration, Collegiality, and Community.
Other responsibilities
- Create the HR performance dashboard and report on a regular basis
- Actively participate to the school events
- Comply to the school's Child protection Policy and Safety regulations
- Provide formal students supervision during scheduled supervision times
- Act as a backup for the absent staff, as needed
- Other duties, as assigned by the HR Director
