Marketing and Communications Manager
atShrewsbury International School BangkokThe Marketing and Communications Manager works closely with the Principal, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Shrewsbury Bangkok International Asia (SIA) Director of Marketing, to be responsible for the following key areas:
Strategic Leadership
- Deliver strategic marketing and communications plans aligned to the school's business priorities and annual budget
- Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and activities, providing insight and recommendations to the SIA Director of Marketing, Principal and SLT
- Assess market trends and competitor activity in the international school sector
- Ensure the Shrewsbury Bangkok City Campus and the Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside brands are represented appropriately
- Lead, manage and motivate the City Campus marketing team to deliver high‑quality campaigns, events and communications
- Provide direction, prioritisation and professional development support to ensure high performance and collaboration across the marketing function
- Provide quality control, creative direction and editorial oversight across all branded materials, publications, multimedia content and design work
- Manage the key marketing functions: Events; Advertising and PR, Digital presence including social media and the school website, Networking, Parent Communications; Brand Management; Internal and external communications, media relations and academic department support
- Work closely with the Admissions department on shared objectives
- Manage the marketing budget and produce the Budget and Actual report.
Events
- Work with the leadership team and Admissions team to deliver high-quality school events including exhibitions, parent seminars, concerts, speech day, graduations, community activities and admissions‑focused events (both live and digital).
- Ensure brand visibility and strong stakeholder relationships across the school community and beyond.
Advertising Campaigns
- Plan and execute brand campaigns and student recruitment campaigns
- Manage in house creative concepts.
Digital
- Manage effectively photographic opportunities
- Devise and implement high-quality multimedia
- Identify advertising and PR opportunities that support enrollment objectives
- Manage effectively the graphic design function for events and advertising campaigns
- Ensure cross-campus alignment on events, announcements, digital campaigns to ensure a consistent and cohesive Shrewsbury Bangkok messaging.
- Maintain digital directories and third‑party listings representing the school
- Social Media/Website
- Manage effectively social media output in collaboration with the school's cross-campus digital manager
- Maintain the school's website up-to-date, including news, events, job descriptions, curriculum content, images etc.
PR & Media
- Manage effectively PR & Media activities, ensuring timely, accurate and professional engagement with all stakeholders, in line with the school's brand and values
- Provide editorial oversight for all communications, ensuring high standards of English, appropriate tone and message alignment
- Support the Principal as the public face of the Campus, providing PR advice and ensuring positive representation in the community and media
- Contribute to Governors' reports and marketing committees meetings as required.
Networking & Outreach
- Work with the Admissions team to promote the school with key stakeholders, including corporate clients, embassies, feeder schools etc
- Attend networking events, building partnerships with companies and feeder schools
Admissions support and Market Development
- Work closely with the Riverside Admissions team to analyse enrolment data and market trends and to identify mutually beneficial programmes with feeder schools, relocation agents, HR departments of major Bangkok employers and other relevant partners
- Deliver effectively admissions-specific events that support prospective family engagement.
Internal Communications & Branding
- Maintain friendly professional relationships with parents
- Assist with drafting and proof-reading parent communications
- Ensure adherence to the school's brand and style guides
Reporting
- Prepare marketing reports as required including the termly marketing summary for the school governors
- Attend Executive Committee meetings as required.
The Marketing and Communications Manager reports to the SIA Director of Marketing and the Principal.
Skills Criteria
The candidate should demonstrate the following skills and experience as relevant to this role:
Essential
- Excellent English, both written and spoken
- Experience in a professional marketing environment
- Experience of budget control, tracking and reporting
- Excellent planning and time management skills, with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Practical knowledge of digital platforms, social media and analytical tools, including advertising campaign execution
- Possess a calm and professional manner at all times
- Advertising, PR and event management skills
- Editing and proofing skills.
Desirable
- Journalism skills with the ability to identify opportunities and create persuasive stories
- Experience of working in a school environment
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, including Google Drive, Google Forms and Google Analytics
- Experience with design tools, including Canva and Cap cut etc.
- Ability in Thai and Mandarin languages
