General Manager, Head of Commercials, Contract Logistics

General Description

This position has significant responsibility for the growth with profitable of the warehousing and distribution businesses in Thailand. The role also embraces the need to ensure that the growth objectives of the logistics business are achieved by way of providing close support to. 

  • Achieve the sales goals set for the Logistics Department in Thailand.
  • Identification of potential customers and building relationships.
  • Widen DB Schenker’s market reputation in Thailand.
  • Develop and enhance logistics products and solution sets.
  • Develop relationships with logistics suppliers, enhancing Schenker’s logistics solutions, capability, and lowering costs.
  • Create action plan based on the business and competitive environment, customer structure, and products managed. 

Specific Accountability:

1) Achieve Annual Financial Target and Strategic Plan

  • Implement the agreed plan to achieve the stretch target and goals for each of the accounts to ensure that profitability and efficiency is maximized.
  • Plan and recommend investments that will achieve sustainable cost savings and process /efficiency improvements.
  • Develop and Execute Strategy to drive business growth  

 2) Business Development

  • In conjunction with the Business Development team, identify and define opportunities to close new businesses or to on-sell the menu of services to existing clients and strive to achieve business extension opportunities that will enhance both the profitability and reputation of the Logistics business.

3) Customer / Industrial Estate / Business Relationship Development

  • Establish and maintain close business relationships with all key customers and partners.

4) Business / Budget Planning

  • In conjunction with the Logistics head, prepare and recommend business and budget plans for approval.
  • Report against agreed Goal’s to ensure that progress against the business plan is measured, and that any gaps identified are remedied if appropriate to do so.

5) People Management

  • Implement and maintain an appropriate BD and SD Development Program
  • Create a Team environment in the business and as appropriate run workshops to share best practices.

6) Others Challenges

  • Manage Key account team to build exiting customers relationship, commercial negotiation and maintain customers.
