Job Description
Role Purpose
- Manage end to end business for the Crops by collaborating with Key stakeholders (R&D, P&S, Agronomy, Sales & PMs)
- Act as a single contact point for MBRs, Crop Strategy, Long Term Marketing/Business Plans (5-year and 15-year) and portfolio related matters for alignment in line with overall FC Business aspirations under the direction of the Business Head
- Enable and Coach Product Managers, Commercial Excellence Manager and Digital Lead to do their job effectively
- Position Syngenta as the Leading brand in the marketplace and strive for Price Leadership
- Explore alternate business models by Identifying portfolio opportunities with strategic partners
- Improve Business Quality by reducing Sales Returns and optimizing Inventory discards
Accountabilities
- Working with Country General Manager and Field Crop Business Lead to develop field crop commercial strategies for target segments.
- Developing 5-year strategy for the country with clear short-term operational focus.
- Delivering new product launches align with country strategy.
- Defining brand strategy align with country and portfolio strategy.
- Defining marketing communication strategy (e.g., media mix, budget allocation across services).
- Prioritizing campaigns and resource allocation in line with overall strategy, oversees the execution of marketing campaigns.
- Overviewing effectiveness of campaigns in season and post campaign review against objectives.
- Driving excellence in channel management.
- Ensuring delivery of Campaign management in Corn seed both Channel and Grower
- Develop Marketing and Commercial excellence throughout the Syngenta Enterprise
- Continually assessMarketing capabilities of the Product Managers, Commercial Excellence Manager, Digital Lead, Marketing Services Lead and Division Marketing Managers
- Identify gaps in competencies
- Develop plans to fill gaps
- Provide best-in-class Marketing training to the commercial functions to build and maintain status as trusted local expert.
- Keep track of developments in agriculture, systematically capture information and bring new innovations to farmers for a competitive advantage.
Qualifications
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
- E2E Business Understanding – Commercial, Agronomy P&S, R&D
- Strategic Decision Making and Entrepreneur Mindset
- Expertise in Portfolio Management, Pricing, Commercial Excellence
- Project management capability
- Seed and CP business acumen - understanding of commercial, Agronomy, Logistics and Distribution
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Critical experience
- 10-15 years of Sales & Marketing experience in Agricultural or related fields
- Experience in developing teams and participation in strategic teams
- Demonstrated people management potential and coaching others to success
- Excellent knowledge of brand management, marketing strategy and customer insights.
- Applies effective grower, channel and influencer segmentation.
- Develops/delivers innovative, customer-driven offers.
- Develops/implements sound value and transactional pricing based on customer perceived value.
