Sr.Specialist – Product Development (HORECA Product)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Product Gap and Opportunity Assessment: Use expertise in product and business knowledge to analyze and evaluate product gaps in the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) market, identifying opportunities to develop new products that truly meet market demand.

  • Customer Needs Research: Conduct research to understand the specific needs of HORECA customers, focusing on product usage, cost, and profit potential, to ensure the proposed products are a perfect fit.

  • Product Development and Testing: Conduct product testing and tastings to evaluate quality, taste, and cost-effectiveness. This ensures that the proposed products will help customers' businesses grow and become more profitable.

  • Collaboration for Product Launch: Work closely with the Commercial, Merchandising, Operations, and QA teams to gather market insights, push for the sourcing of raw materials and production, and propose product placement to align with customer behavior.

  • Product Knowledge Training: Develop content and conduct in-depth product training for internal teams, including the Commercial team, Merchandising, Operations, and QA, to ensure everyone has a thorough understanding of the products and proper handling.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Food Science, Food Technology, Culinary Arts,

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in food product development or a related role within the HORECA business. Experience in the restaurant business or as a chef will be considered a strong advantage.

  • Business Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the HORECA business, including product costing, pricing, and profitability.

  • Product Knowledge: A strong understanding of food products, ingredients, and production processes. Capable of evaluating product quality.

  • Analytical Skills: The ability to accurately analyze market data, customer information, and identify product gaps.

  • Communication and Training Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to effectively convey complex product knowledge to team members.
