Research & Development Food (RTE & Delicatessen)

Responsibilities

  • Develop Innovative Food Concepts: Develop innovative and modern food concepts within the Ready-to-Eat (RTE) and Delicatessen categories to cater to the retail market.

  • Analyze Market Trends and Consumer Behavior: Conduct in-depth market research and analyze food trends and consumer behavior to create products that genuinely meet customer demands.

  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Partners: Work closely with food manufacturing partners and OEM factories to coordinate product sampling, test runs, and commercial production for retail shelves.

  • Oversee Production Processes: Monitor and oversee production processes at the factory to ensure all products comply with specifications, food safety standards, and quality requirements.

  • Provide Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and recommendations on recipe development and production processes to OEM partners to ensure the consistent quality of products meets the business's requirements.

  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Coordinate with relevant teams, including Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Quality Assurance, throughout the entire product development cycle.

  • Support Product Launch: Provide support during product testing, shelf-life validation, and pilot launches to confirm the readiness and commercial viability of products before their full-scale market release. Scope of work

Qualification

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in food product research and development, particularly in the Ready-to-Eat (RTE) or Delicatessen categories.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge and technical skills in food science, food production technology, and food safety principles.

  • Lab Skills: Capable of prototyping and refining recipes at a lab scale, with an understanding of ingredient properties and the compounds used in food processing.

  • Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Able to provide guidance and troubleshoot effectively with internal teams and external partners (OEMs).

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze market data and consumer behavior to drive product development.

  • Project Management: Skilled in managing projects and juggling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Education: A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field is required.
