Manufacturing Process Engineer, Devices and Services (Mandarin)

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
- Experience in manufacturing and developing processes to scale products, including mechanical fixture designs with process controls and within schedules
- Ability to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in camera, display, tablet, and/or notebook related manufacturing processes and requirements to manufacture in a cleanroom environment
- Ability to run modifications in 3D modeling software (e.g., NX, Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Ability to bring in manufacturing solutions to effectively drive failures to closure using techniques in data mining and analysis
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Monitoring Systems (MES, SPC, etc.) and how to apply manufacturing statistics and design experiments
- Knowledge of SAS software (e.g., JMP, Minitab), and database structures
- Knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and processes (e.g., heat staking, ultrasonic welding, adhesives, and dispensing systems)
About the job
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be responsible for using creativity and a wide range of engineering expertise to develop and evaluate solutions to engineering problems. You'll design, develop, test, and qualify solutions in a manufacturing environment, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and early involvement with the Product Design team to ensure excellent manufacturability, improvement, cost reduction and scale, complex mechanical fixture design and test, automation, failure analysis, and advanced process controls. You will also collaborate with other multi-disciplinary teams to maintain effective functional relationships to co-develop and structure future requirements. You'll maintain clear documentation and communication of goals, risks, status, and prioritized feature requests and bugs.

Responsibilities
- Provide high quality engineering solutions in both process development and mechanical fixture designs to fast track product manufacturing to mass production. Work with manufacturers and vendors to prioritize and solve issues.
- Drive design for DFM and influence Product Design and Electrical Engineering (EE) to improve manufacturability for yield and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product Design engineers and EE to ensure robust design for manufacturing.
- Interface cross-functionally with Design and Commodity teams in down-selection, sourcing, qualification, and integration of components and vendors used in Google's products.
- Work with Quality and Reliability teams to define requirements for shipments.
