Merchandising Manager/Assistant Manager, Watches & Fine Jewelry

The WFJ Merchandising Manager/Assistant Manager is aimed to develop WFJ focusing on merchandising perspectives

Key responsibilities
WFJ business performance
  • Participate in the construction of Thailand's strategic plans and action plans to contribute to regional WFJ ambitions
  • Build mid-term to long-term sales projections and budgets that are in line with Thailand strategic plans
  • Drive WFJ operations transformation and manage all related business / supply chain changes in Thailand.
  • Lead the local implementation of new supply chain models, system, processes, and workflows in accordance with global and regional directions
  • Communicate Thailand's WFJ vision and plans to regional WFJ Merchandising and regional High-end teams, ensure local needs and priorities are taken into account
  • Monitor and analyse product performance and sales trends
  • Prepare weekly and monthly business review reports
  • Monitor new product launches and formulate necessary action plans to support the launches in partnership with other departments
  • Drive Merchandising projects and new initiatives for Thailand to always seize new business opportunities
  • Participate in global and regional projects, conduct necessary tests and provide local feedbacks
Forecasts, product assortment and stock management
  • Act as the advisor to local WFJ Manager on business development opportunities related to stock, assortment and supply chain process enhancements
  • Lead monthly sales forecasts and build model stock that are aligned to regional directions and guidelines
  • Develop forecast simulations with regional WFJ Merchandising team to prepare for sales fluctuations
  • Build product assortment strategy adapted to Thailand's market needs (WFJ & fashion networks)
  • Manage and optimize local stock and inventory level by formulating necessary action plans
  • Develop and monitor Stock KPIs (forecast accuracy, stock coverage, overstock and so on)
  • Build product performance review and stock management tools like tracking files, PowerBI and dashboards
  • Work closely with sales administration team on managing local operations, placing and tracking orders on products and selling tools e.g. packaging, customer brochures, etc.
  • Ensure timely deliveries to boutiques
Drive high-end business:
  • Work closely with regional high-end team on developing local high-end actions and fulfilling local high jewellery / high-end watch needs
  • Plan and manage high jewellery events and boutique routings — product selection and routing calendar
  • Monitor and analyze high-end sales— actual and to-be-invoiced sales.
  • Keep close tracking on retail's TBI invoicing schedule and provide timely updates to WFJ Manager and regional high-end team
  • Manage daily transfers and operations of high jewellery and high-end watch
  • Drive implementation of global / regional commercial policies and other high-end guidelines
  • Work closely with boutiques on managing customer requests
  • Work closely with after-sales service team to drive local quality control processes and handle quality issues
Partnership with Retail team
  • Provide strategic advice and develop action plans with retail team and boutiques
  • Conduct quantitative analyses on product actions and collect qualitative feedbacks from retail team
  • Define KPIs and drive retail performance by identifying merchandising gaps
Partnership with Finance team
  • Formulate annual and quarterly budgets. Align with Finance team on sales projection during each budget cycle
  • Review and develop business reports and finance monitoring tools
Partnership with IT team
  • Conduct constant review of local processes and systems and propose needed improvements
  • Coordinate with IT on system development/enhancement projects and manage projects roll-out
Academic / Professional qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor's degree
Work experience
  • 4 - 8 years of work experience in Product Management with at least 3 years in luxury industry
  • Watch & Fine Jewellery/ Fashion / retail / luxury background is an advantage
