The Risk Specialist will be responsible for developing and enhancing risk management frameworks, policies and methodologies across the organization. The role will provide an independent risk perspective on business strategies, new products, digital transformation and major business initiatives, while supporting management in identifying and managing key, emerging and material risks.

Core Responsibilities


• Develop, implement and review risk strategy, risk appetite, governance frameworks, risk calculation methodologies, risk policies, standards and procedures to ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, industry practices and long-term sustainability.


• Provide independent risk perspectives on strategic initiatives, business plans, new products, digital transformation, market expansion and major business changes, while supporting senior management in identifying, assessing and prioritizing strategic, emerging and material risks.


• Conduct portfolio-level risk analytics across all material risks, including scenario analysis, stress testing and ongoing monitoring, to identify credit migration toward determine appropriate provisioning implications, detect risk appetite breaches, access emerging risks and evaluate potential impacts on financial performance and strategic objectives.


• Develop and maintain risk dashboards, key risk indicators, management reports, board-level materials and regulatory reports to support timely escalation, clear communication of key risk insights, and informed decision-making by management and committees.


• Coordinate stakeholder consultation, policy review, approval, implementation and monitoring processes across business units and control functions to ensure consistent application of risk policies, frameworks and governance requirements.


• Act as a trusted risk partner to business units, finance, strategy, compliance, legal, internal audit, technology and data teams by translating complex risk, policy and portfolio analytics matters into clear, concise and actionable recommendations.


• Support continuous improvement of risk management practices through data-driven insights, process enhancement, automation, lessons learned from risk events, and adoption of risk management tools.


• Promote a strong risk culture by embedding risk awareness, accountability, informed risk-taking and sound governance across all subsidiaries.


• Contribute to regulatory reviews, audit responses, due diligence assessments, and management reporting by providing clear analysis, documentation, and recommendations on credit policy, portfolio quality, borrower/transaction assessment, risk governance, and related control matters


Qualification and Experience


• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management, Data Analytics, Accounting, or a related field; professional certification such as FRM, CFA, PRM or CPA is an advantage.


• Minimum 10 years’ experience in risk management, credit risk, enterprise risk, portfolio analytics, risk policy, governance, audit, consulting, or related functions within financial services, banking or regulated industries.


• Strong knowledge of risk governance, risk appetite, credit policy, portfolio monitoring, provisioning, stress testing, scenario analysis, regulatory expectations and control frameworks.


• Proven experience in developing and implementing risk policies, standards, procedures, dashboards, KRIs, management reports, board materials and regulatory submissions.


• Proven track record in credit-related areas, including credit risk analysis, underwriting, credit approval, portfolio quality review, due diligence and risk recommendations.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex risk data, identify emerging risks, assess business implications and provide practical recommendations to senior management and committees.


• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business units and group entities.


• High level of professionalism, integrity, independence and sound judgment, with the ability to provide constructive challenges and support informed decision-making.


• Experience in data analytics, automation, risk management tools, dashboard development or digital transformation is an advantage.
