WHAT YOU WILL DO

Are you an HSE Officer who is passionate about driving safety excellence in high-risk retail fuel operations?

Join Gilbarco Veeder-Root Thailand and take the opportunity to provide frontline HSE support and technical expertise across fuel retail operations.

In this role, you will primarily support HSE activities in Thailand, including technical reviews, compliance with Thai OSH and DOEB regulations, audits, inspections, field safety support, strengthen safety culture among field teams. You will also work closely with the regional HSE team and support HSE initiatives to improve safety standards and operational performance across Southeast Asia.

To break it down, your responsibilities will include:

Technical Review and Compliance:

• Review and maintain HIRAC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control) documentation, work permits, related safety controls for service station forecourts, ensuring align with Thai OSHE Act and DOEB regulations and retail fuel best practices.

• Monitor HSE compliance for fuel dispensing, storage, and maintenance activities, including Thai OSH laws, fire safety standards, and Department of Energy Business (DOEB) requirements for petroleum retail.

Audits and Inspections:

• Conduct in-field audits and inspections at service stations to identify hazards, assess risks, and follow up on corrective actions in line with Thai regulatory requirements.

• Maintain and improve audit and inspection tools to align with Thai OSH and DOEB standards, and industry best practice

Culture and Frontline Support:

• Coach and support frontline Service Technician teams to build a proactive HSE culture and strengthen safe work practices.

• Promote the effective implementation of HSE policies and procedures in line with Thai workplace standards.

• Support the development and effective functioning of Safety Committees in accordance with Thai OSH regulations (required for workplaces with 50 or more employees).

HSE Management Systems and Tools:

• Support the development and implementation of practical HSE systems and tools for high-risk activities in retail fuel sites.

• Work with the broader HSE team to integrate frontline insights into system improvements.

• Support timely, accurate reporting of all HSE events including incidents (per DLPW requirements where applicable) and positive observations (AC4P or equivalent).

Industry Leadership and Reputation:

• Support and grow company reputation as an industry leader in HSE by engaging with Thai national authorities and advocating for best practices in retail fuel operations.

• Represent the company in external HSE forums, contribute to safety standards and initiatives for high-risk fuel retail environments.

Continuous Improvement:

• Continuously improving HSE performance by identifying opportunities in field operations and leading initiatives.

• Partner with operational teams to implement innovative HSE solutions specific to fuel retail challenges in the Thai market.

To be successful in this role, YOU will bring:

Essential：

• 5-8 years of experience in technical HSE or related roles within high-risk environments

• Extensive hands-on experience with a deep understanding of frontline/field requirements

• Deep HSE technical knowledge, including hazard identification in forecourt activities per Thai standards (flammable liquids, fire/explosion risks, electrical, etc.).

• Training and qualifications in high-risk work activities, including Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Hazardous Materials Handling, and Thai-specific requirements such as fire safety and chemical handling.

• Proficiency in risk assessment tools, HIRAC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control) development, and auditing

• Multiple stakeholders Management and influencing skills

• Resilient, approachable, and able to make progress in a complex organization

• Excellent communication skills (fluent in Thai and English)

• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Preferable

• Technical Level Safety Officer certification (or equivalent training and registration with the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare - DLPW) as per Thai regulations; if not held, commitment to achieve within the first year of employment.

• Professional certifications such as Advanced Technical Level or Professional Level Safety Officer (Thai), NEBOSH International General Certificate, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor; if not held, commitment to achieve within the first year of employment.

• Permit-to-Work (PTW) system training and authorization, or equivalent high-risk work permitting qualifications relevant to fuel operations.

• Relevant industrial with exposure to fuel station operations.
