Job Summary
Lead and oversee the resolution of all country in-house legal matters as part of the function's legal management role.
General Responsibilities
- Review, reviseand provide comments on the BU's Contracts and documents.
- Handle discussions on legal issues with the BU's senior position levels and provide any legal and business advice required by them.
- Participate in the legal analysis discussions and business strategy plan required from time to time by the BU team.
- Implement any new legal initiatives as agreed within the Legal Department.
- Develop the BU's standard contract templates.
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Broad based knowledge of general commercial and contract law, corporate law, regulatory law and policy.
- Knowledge of regulations and laws impacting the BU specific industry.
- Basic knowledge of BU specific industry trends, legislative initiatives and impact on the Company.
- Ability to form strong relationships with clients, while maintaining independence and professional integrity.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with internal partners and third parties.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to individuals at various levels of the organization.
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
Education
- Masterâs degree in Law.
- At least 3 years experience working in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department.
- Experience working within the BU specific industry e.g. consumer goods, pharmaceutical is a plus.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams that successfully met business goals while maintaining strict compliance with relevant laws, regulations and company policies.
