About the Role

BYD THAILAND is looking for a Product Engineer - New Product Planning to support new product planning and launch activities in Thailand. This role will analyze market trends, customer needs, competitor products, specifications, and pricing while working closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Homologation, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.

What You'll Be Doing

• Analyze Thai market trends, customer needs, competitor products, and applicable requirements to support new product planning.

• Define product targets and specifications with R&D based on market requirements and business objectives.

• Benchmark competitor products, specifications, features, pricing, and customer needs.

• Identify market gaps and provide recommendations for new product positioning and improvements.

• Coordinate new product planning, launch schedules, specifications, milestones, and open product decisions.

• Prepare feasibility, cost, and value assessments for new products, variants, features, and localization proposals.

• Coordinate product evaluation and validation activities with relevant internal teams.

• Provide product information and technical specifications to Sales, Marketing, and Training teams.

• Support product launch readiness by coordinating specifications, technical information, and cross-functional requirements.

• Work with Homologation, Quality, R&D, Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to identify and resolve product-related issues.

• Monitor market trends, technology developments, regulations, and competitor activities.

• Prepare product analysis, status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations for management.

• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in automotive product engineering, product planning, product development, or a related field.

• Experience in new product planning or new product launch is an advantage.

• Proficient in English; Chinese language skills are an advantage.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong analytical, market research, and problem-solving skills.

• Good understanding of vehicle products, specifications, customer needs, and market trends.

• Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

• Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and international environment.
