NTT DATA Thailand is seeking a Senior Associate Cloud Technical Architect with strong AWS expertise to join our Presales team, specializing in Application Modernization solutions. This role combines deep technical knowledge of cloud-native architecture with customer-facing presales capabilities to design and articulate transformative cloud modernization strategies for enterprise clients.
The ideal candidate will partner with sales teams to assess customer application estates, design migration and modernization roadmaps, architect containerization and serverless solutions, and deliver compelling technical presentations that demonstrate business value and technical feasibility of AWS-based application transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Presales Solution Design Architecture

• Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to assess current application architectures, technology stacks, and modernization readiness
• Design comprehensive AWS-based application modernization solutions including containerization (EKS, ECS, Fargate), serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge), and microservices patterns
• Develop migration strategies (6Rs: Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Rearchitect, Retire, Retain) tailored to customer business objectives and technical constraints
• Create detailed solution architectures, reference architectures, and technical design documents that address scalability, resilience, security, and cost optimization
• Architect cloud-native CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or integration with GitLab/GitHub Actions for automated application delivery
• Define observability and monitoring strategies leveraging CloudWatch, X-Ray, CloudTrail, and third-party APM tools for modernized applications

Customer Engagement Technical Evangelism

• Deliver executive-level and technical presentations, workshops, and proof-of-concept demonstrations to articulate the value proposition of AWS application modernization
• Conduct application portfolio assessments and provide strategic recommendations on modernization priorities and sequencing
• Respond to RFPs/RFIs with detailed technical proposals, solution blueprints, and effort estimations for application modernization projects
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout the presales cycle, addressing technical objections and providing expert guidance on AWS best practices
• Build and demonstrate accelerators, reference implementations, and reusable modernization patterns to shorten customer decision cycles

Technical Leadership Collaboration

• Partner with sales teams to develop account strategies, identify modernization opportunities, and qualify technical requirements for target accounts
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure seamless handoff from presales to implementation, maintaining architectural integrity throughout project lifecycle
• Work closely with AWS partner teams to leverage AWS funding programs (MAP, MRA), technical resources, and co-selling opportunities
• Contribute to the development of NTT DATAs application modernization practice, including methodology refinement, asset creation, and capability building
• Mentor junior architects and presales engineers on AWS technologies and solution design best practices

Cost Estimation Commercial Support

• Develop detailed effort estimates for modernization engagements including assessment, migration, refactoring, testing, and optimization phases
• Create AWS infrastructure cost models and TCO analyses using AWS Pricing Calculator, Cost Explorer, and third-party tools to support business case development
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and architect solutions with built-in FinOps principles (rightsizing, reserved instances, savings plans, spot instances)

Required Qualifications:
Education Experience

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 5 years of hands-on experience in application development, cloud architecture, or DevOps roles with demonstrated progression into presales or solution architecture
• 3 years of direct experience with AWS services focused on compute, containers, serverless, and application integration
• Proven track record in presales, solution architecture, or technical consulting roles supporting enterprise customers

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in AWS compute services: EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, App Runner, Elastic Beanstalk
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, container registries (ECR)
• Proficiency in serverless architectures and event-driven design patterns using Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS, SNS
• Experience with application modernization patterns: strangler fig, anti-corruption layer, CQRS, event sourcing, saga pattern
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, API management (API Gateway, AppSync), and service mesh technologies
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code: Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or Pulumi
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and implementation using AWS native tools or third-party platforms (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of application migration tools: AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), AWS Migration Hub, CloudEndure
• Strong understanding of networking in AWS: VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Route 53, CloudFront, AWS WAF
• Experience with AWS security services: IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Cognito
• Familiarity with databases on AWS: RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, DocumentDB, and migration strategies
• Programming/scripting proficiency in at least one language: Python, Java, Node.js, Go, or .NET

Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (required)
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (highly preferred)
• Additional AWS specialty certifications (Advanced Networking, Security, or Machine Learning) are a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale enterprise application migrations (50 applications)
• Knowledge of legacy technology modernization (mainframe, AS/400, client-server applications)
• Familiarity with cloud migration assessment tools: AWS Migration Evaluator, CloudScape, RISC Networks, Cloudamize
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures involving Azure or Google Cloud Platform
• Knowledge of specific industry verticals: financial services, healthcare, retail, or manufacturing
• Understanding of compliance frameworks: PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, and their implementation on AWS
• Experience with AWS Well-Architected Framework reviews and remediation
• Background in application performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Prior experience working with AWS Partner Network (APN) Premier or Advanced Consulting Partners
