Channel Sales Manager

The Channel Sales Manager will be accountable for revenue growth of the GSG business by overseeing and working with our channel partners while also identifying new business opportunities for continuous growth. In addition to ownership of the sales targets, he/she will be responsible for new product and ongoing training needed for the channel partner team, sales forecasting, and open new market development across SEA designated region. The incumbent will work as a key stakeholder through the matrix and will also work very closely with the broader functional teams, as well as Management, to leverage and develop key partners and customer relationships.

Job Summary:

  • Evaluate the Genetic Science Group (GSG) market landscape, monitor changes and predict trends in market dynamics and competition.
  • Assess the key strategic challenges and opportunities facing the division, lead the insight generation process for determining the impact of these on the division, and deliver recommendation to GSG leadership on best course of action in response.
  • Lead ad-hoc strategic projects e.g. strategic workshops to drive GSG business as a totality.
  • Work with sales support teams, including but not limited to Supply Chain, Information Technology, Finance and Human Resource teams to develop and ensure effective business support practices and strategies for the business in SEA region.
  • As the market expert, you develop and articulate presentations, reports and workshops for the leadership team on impactful market and competitive events.
  • Lead market research projects that deliver compelling insights and recommendation to drive superior business decisions and performance.
  • Drives market segmentation projects based on superior market and customer insight, in support of the strategic planning and marketing organizations.
  • Taking the leads on key initiative project as advised by regional director.
  • Travel within assigned territory as necessary to work with local channel partners to close critical sales efforts


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related fields or Master degree in Life Sciences preferred.
  • At minimum, 6-7 years of relevant experience in managing distributors, sales and marketing in Life Sciences, Consumables or related industry
  • At minimum, 2 years of direct managing customer experience in Life Science space preferred.
  • Strong exposure to overall business dynamics in South East Region is highly preferable.
  • Strong exposure to overall business dynamics with strong ability to manage relationships across business divisions.
  • Possesses a working knowledge in the molecular genetic applications area is highly desirable.
  • Strong Channel management experience advantageous to know how to work with them.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence people in a matrix multi-cultural organization environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of the sales process (lead generation, quoting, purchasing, revenue recognition) as well as highly competent in forecast management
  • Experience with project management is highly preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
