Practice Manager, Asia - Build by McKinsey

Who You'll Work With

You will join one of our Asia offices, and be a part of the McKinsey Digital Asia practice, focusing on Build by McKinsey in Asia. As part of this group, you will be working primarily with the Global & Asia Build leadership team as well as the broader McKinsey Digital team.
In executing your role, you will need to collaborate with a wide range of people from different teams, which include People & Recruiting, Finance, Communications, and many of our client service leaders.

In Asia, Build by McKinsey has over 300 colleagues including UI/UX designers, product managers, software, data and cloud engineers, agile coaches, and more.

What You'll Do

You will help shape the global and regional strategies for Build by McKinsey and drive the strategy execution including day-to-day operations in Asia.
In this role, you will provide input to shape the overall Build by McKinsey strategy, translate the global priorities into regional ones, develop and evolve OKRs and initiatives that guide the work of our Build by McKinsey leadership team, and coordinate and drive the execution of strategic initiatives in the region.
You will guide our colleagues to enhance our client capabilities and service offering by bringing out the best of our capabilities (both people and assets) to clients through the use of innovative content and format, close collaboration with other sectors, functions, and service lines, and exciting partner/client service team education program.
You will be key in designing and executing community building activities, in alignment with our mission that Build by McKinsey become the best place to work for world class technology and design talents. You will support our leadership and People team to recruit, engage and retain exceptional expertise.
You will also ensure performance and health of Build by McKinsey in Asia through tracking of impactful metrics, codification and sharing of best practices, orchestrating leadership meetings and problem solving sessions to ensure the right initiatives are prioritized and the right decisions are made in a timely manner.


Qualifications

  • University degree; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a management consultant or 8+ years in strategy and operations role in a large global organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
  • Entrepreneurial team player with a "get things done" mindset, while helping a leadership team maintain focus on achieving the longer-term aspirations
  • Strong analytic and project management skills
  • Track record of building trust-based collaborative relationships with a wide range of senior leaders
  • Exceptional managerial skills to ensure well-organized and efficient operations on a day-to-day basis
  • Ability to perform multiple workstreams concurrently and determine/adjust priorities, as appropriate
  • Experience driving complex initiatives across a dynamic global organization while highly equipped at delivering measurable outcomes and overcoming obstacles
  • Ability to manage multiple points of view from a wide variety of stakeholders, and strong influencing skills to drive diverse individual perspectives toward a single solution
  • Comfort with ambiguous, ever-changing situations
