Who You'll Work With

You could be located in Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur or Manila.
Reporting to the Director of Reputation & Communications, Asia, you will work closely with members of the leadership team and senior partners in the region to design and drive the McKinsey agenda at major external institutional forums and key firm-convened events.
You will work with a distributed network of communications and other support colleagues to deliver firm-convened events that are a priority for the region, such as the multi-country roll out of the McKinsey Center for CEO Excellence. You will also support on any regional partner meetings and senior regional alumni forums. Key stakeholders include: Regional Chairman, AsiaX; Reputation & Engagement Senior Partner sponsor; Director of Reputation & Engagement, Asia Pacific.


What You'll Do

You will provide end-to-end project management of McKinsey involvement in key regional external forums, such as the G20/B20 Summit, World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, Bloomberg New Economy Forum, Milken Institute Asia Summit, World Knowledge Forum. You will be responsible for shaping involvement to maximize participation and engagement opportunities, creating impactful agendas, sourcing speakers, crafting talking points, coordinating bi-lateral meetings, directing running orders and logistics, and wholistic management of privately hosted events on the sidelines of major forums.
You will lead the design and delivery of engagement plans for the regional Chairman's participation at major institutional forums.
You will manage the Regional Chairman's participation at external regional forums, provide counsel and support in driving a strategy and agenda, working closely with senior partners and practice leaders across the region.
You'll manage the strategic involvement and participation at multiple high-touch engagements to a McKinsey standard, for the purpose of reputation-building and enhanced client development opportunities.
You'll orchestrate the design and delivery of an Asia Alumni Advisory Council involving some of the most prominent McKinsey alumni in the region, including the delivery of a launch program as part of the 2022 Asia Week and an ongoing program of engagement.
You will manage multiple workstreams end to end, partnering with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders for best-practice execution of elements including:
Clear pre and post engagement communications with consistent rhythm and tone
Agenda for bilateral meetings
Presentation content, talking points and speaker notes
Planned approach for McKinsey convened sideline events to connect with key target audience groups including relevant speaker / hosting notes and event briefing packs
You will serve as an operational excellence expert for project delivery, ensuring program management projects across the region are managed through effective delivery processes and include all critical stages and milestones through the project lifecycle.
You will maintain the integrity of McKinsey processes with consideration of the McKinsey reputational risk framework.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience managing high-impact high-touch events that create client development opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-impact projects from end-to-end
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities – requiring artful orchestration and prioritization and the ability to play different roles
  • Strong ability to build positive working relationships and rapport with partners and alumni
  • Strategic thinker and high level of discretion and humility
  • Understanding of the McKinsey alumni community and ability to operate within the global alumni framework
  • Demonstrated track record of impact, initiative-taking, sound judgement, and maturity - appropriate to influence senior stakeholders within the region and across the globe
  • Exceptional written communications skills for a broad and senior audience
