YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides guidance on international trade and customs compliance matters for Bayer on a regional level.
• Builds and maintains relationships with companies within and outside of the life science industry. Advances the company's trade agenda through industry associations and coalitions, as well as at conferences and other professional gatherings. Formulates, modifies and executes legislative/regulatory proposals to further enhance international trade or minimize tariffs for Bayer businesses. Designs and communicates recommended courses of action for senior management and Government Relations.
• Optimizes the division's participation in preferential trade programs including duty drawbacks, bonded warehouses, foreign/free trade zones, inward/outward processing, free trade agreements, Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programs.
• Support government inquiries and investigations as well as accompanying contacts with responsible authorities (per Margo 1933)
• Oversee routine auditing of each Bayer operating company importing and exporting site, and develop Corrective Action Plans for each audit.
• Provide training for all Bayer operating companies on import and export compliance and Bayer's procedures.
• Tariff classification determination of pharmaceutical, agrochemical, chemical goods, packaging material, engineering equipment and spare parts, new products, samples and master data maintenance.
• Analyze and evaluate the implementation of international security programs recommended by the World Customs Organization (WCO) AEO, C-TPAT Also Valuation related matters.

WHO YOU ARE

• Masters or MBA degree in Business / Foreign Trade / SCM with 10+ years' experience.
• Proven subject matter expertise in all areas of international trade law and regulations including, customs, export controls, preferential trade programs and economic sanctions
• Excellent people, managerial and result orientation skills
• Excellent communication – oral, written, under diverse circumstances and audiences.
• A track record of successful project delivery and technical group management preferably in a technology environment
