Manager, Operations - Ocean Freight

- Profit & Loss and operational responsibility of the department
Specific Accountabilities
- Lead all operation team, Export, Import & Documentation.
- Ensure that financial and volume budgets are met.
- Ensure timely and correct accruals with as little as possible variances.
- Ensure fast issuance of invoices.
- Ensure that DSO and DPO targets are met.
- Improve productivity.
- Ensure prompt closing of jobs.
- Monitor and follow up financial reports.
- Ensure complete, correct and timely input of tracking events.
- Monitor costs and find ways to reduce them.
- Maximize profits.
- Provide resp. ensure training/coaching of staff.
- Instill and monitor operational excellence to/of staff (continuous quality improvement).
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation.
- Ensure smooth operation and satisfaction for external and internal clients.
- Develop close partnerships with internal and external clients.
- Proactively identify current and future needs of clients.
- Ensure good working relationships with external business partners.
- Build team spirit within own dept. and ensure fruitful/close corporation with other depts. and branches.
- Develop cross departmental/functional/operational solutions for the benefit of the company
- Ensure compliance in all respects (company regulations, policies, procedures, etc.)
- Set up and monitor targets resp. KPI’s for/of staff.
- Support sales team incl. joint visit to clients.
- Follow up and ensure satisfactory conclusions of customer complaints/claims.
- Other tasks as assigned by PMO Director.
- Maintain and follow company rules, regulations and Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
