KPMG in Thailand's Business Transformation - ESG team helps organizations integrate sustainability into their business strategies and operations, from identifying material ESG priorities, developing policies and performance metrics to addressing climate risks, managing greenhouse gas emissions, and advancing decarbonization. Our work also encompasses human rights and responsible supply chains, supported by capability-building to help organizations put their commitments into practice. We bring these efforts together through sustainability and climate reporting aligned with relevant standards and frameworks, alongside support for ESG rating assessments.

We are seeking analytical and motivated students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to sustainability-related business challenges. Working alongside experienced consultants, you will support ESG advisory engagements through research, data analysis, and the preparation of client deliverables, while contributing to internal ESG initiatives. You will build practical consulting skills and gain hands-on exposure to how organizations develop and implement their ESG priorities and communicate their sustainability performance.

Roles and responsibilities

Under the guidance of experienced consultants, you will support ESG advisory engagements through the following activities, depending on project needs:

  • ESG strategy - Conducting research on relevant ESG standards and frameworks, reviewing peer practices, and summarizing key takeaways to support ESG strategy engagements.
  • Climate advisory - Researching GHG accounting and reporting approaches under the GHG Protocol and other relevant sector-specific standards, as well as decarbonization options, to support the development of clients' GHG management guidelines and decarbonization pathways.
  • Human rights and supply chain advisory - Conducting desk research on human rights and responsible supply chain practices and supporting risk assessment and the development of recommendations for clients.
  • ESG and climate reporting - Supporting disclosure gap assessments and report preparation with reference to GRI, Form 56-1 One Report, ISSB, TCFD, and other relevant standards and frameworks.
  • ESG ratings - Researching assessment criteria and assisting with gap analysis and response preparation for SET ESG Rating, FTSE Russell, S&P CSA, and other relevant assessments.
  • Capability building and deliverables - Assisting with training materials, workshop preparation and other client deliverables.

Across all assignments, you will collaborate with team members and stakeholders, provide regular progress updates, and deliver accurate, evidence-based work within agreed deadlines while adhering to client confidentiality and the firm's quality, risk management, and professional standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. Applications from undergraduate students are welcomed.
  • A strong interest in ESG and sustainability advisory, including ESG strategy, climate, human rights and responsible supply chains, reporting, and ratings; relevant coursework or project experience is an advantage but not required.
  • Strong desk research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review standards and assessment criteria, compare peer practices, interpret qualitative and quantitative data, and synthesize findings to support practical recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and approved AI tools.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement, and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
