Chief Operating Officer

atTeach For Thailand Foundation

The Role In Thailand there are over 10 million students in our public school system, and yet ~50% leave the system without basic reading, writing and critical thinking skills. Unfortunately, most of them are from low-income family backgrounds, so this contributes to growing injustices and weak human capital. This is unacceptable if we want our new generations to remain relevant and competitive and support an aging society in the next 10 years. At Teach For Thailand, we are working to change this. We believe in the potential of all children and are working to create a different future for kids growing up in low-income communities in Thailand. Today, we have 69 participants in our two-year leadership development program, 78 ambassadors, and 15 team members who are committed to expanding educational opportunity through their leadership in schools and across all sectors. Over the next 2 years, we aim to grow our movement to 150 participants, who collectively will impact 30,000 children in classrooms, with 200 ambassadors and 25 staff serving as leaders to address systemic causes of educational inequity across all sectors. To achieve this, we need a Chief Operating Officer to provide leadership for the organization by evolving our experiential leadership development program, developing a resilient organization, and significantly growing partnerships.

An ideal candidate is a natural leader with a strong track record of leading teams and a knack for bringing order to ambiguity. Over time you will be responsible for evolving the structures and roles on the TFT team to match what is required to achieve our vision as we grow. This is a hands-on execution role that requires exceptional leadership and management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work alongside and coach junior team members on a daily basis. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on visionary leader to take on a new challenge in a fast-paced, results-oriented, socially-minded environment.

You will keep expectations high and knit all of our teams together so that we can fulfill our mission and make a lasting impact. The Chief Operating Officer will report directly to the CEO.
