Accounting Fixed Asset
atPTG Energy PCLJob Purpose:
To oversee the overall management of the company's assets, from purchase to disposal, ensuring that financial reports are accurate, complete, and verifiable according to accounting standards.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Asset Data Management:
Record and verify the accuracy and currency of the asset register.
Control the transition from "Work in Progress" (WIP) to "Asset" to ensure timely depreciation calculation.
Record asset transfers, sales, and disposals in accordance with company policy.
2. Reconciliation and Analysis:
Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger (GL) monthly.
Manage complex accounts such as lease liabilities, contract assets, and deferred tax.
Analyze and compare costs and depreciation to report any discrepancies to management.
3. Control:
Plan and lead a physical count of assets to verify their completeness and condition.
Summarize the inventory results and report any discrepancies.
4. Coordinate the audit:
Represent the auditors on matters related to assets.
Prepare supporting documents for financial statements and other reports for the audit.
Key Skills:
- Understanding of accounting standards (e.g., TFRS 16 on lease contracts)
- Proficient in Excel or SAP software
- Highly detail-oriented and able to analyze the origins of figures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Fixed Asset management.
- Experience in managing month-end closing processes and preparing financial statements is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards and Tax Regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
