Org. Setting and Reporting
The mandate of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is to promote sustainable and inclusive development and regional connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region. The role of ESCAP as a regional development arm of the United Nations Secretariat is to support its membership with policy-oriented research and analysis and with normative, technical and capacity-building assistance to respond to the development priorities and changing needs of countries in Asia and the Pacific. This position is located in the IT Services Management Unit of the Information Technology Section, Division of Administration.

Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Information Technology Assistant and overall supervision of the Chief, IT Services Management Unit, the incumbent is responsible for the following functions to ensure that Network and Telephony services are delivered: Performs a wide range of office support and administrative functions to support the smooth functioning of Network and Telephony services, including: Installs, configures IP telephony system. Installs, configures network systems, LAN and Wi-Fi. Installs, configures and tests audio, video conferences and desktop video conference hardware/software using available communication and network connectivity. Assists in checking and keeping track of telecommunication expenses. Assists in managing ESCAP IT Services Subscription records. Monitors processes and schedules related to the unit’s outputs, products, tasks, etc.; where applicable, assists in the verification of receipt and accuracy of requisite documents, approvals, signatures, etc. to ensure compliance with relevant legal, financial and other requirements. Researches, compiles and organizes information and reference materials from various sources for reports, work plans, studies, briefings, meetings/conferences, etc. Generates a variety of standard statistical and other reports, work orders, etc., using various databases. Administers telephone billing reports; responds to moderately complex information requests and inquiries (e.g. answers requests requiring file search, etc.), and as necessary, refers inquiries to appropriate personnel for handling. Assists in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate technology/software. Performs data entry and extraction functions. Maintains files (both paper and electronic) and databases for work unit. Assists in providing software and office equipment support. Provides guidance to less experienced staff on general office processes and procedures, computer applications, etc. Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Experience
A minimum of three years (or one year if graduated with a first-level university degree) of progressively responsible experience in Network and IP telephony support is required. Experience working with Cisco LAN Switching, Wi-Fi Controller, AP, IP phones, Jabber, MS Teams Telephony is required. Experience in the United Nations Common System or in international organizations similar to those in the UN Common System is desirable. 1 year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
