Job SummaryThe SMT Equipment Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the equipment engineering team to support factory operational goals. This role oversees the sourcing, design, deployment, and optimization of SMT manufacturing equipment (Screenprint, API, Pick & Place, Reflow Oven). The ideal candidate will drive equipment efficiency (OEE/UPH), manage capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, lead automation initiatives, and ensure a safe, high-performing engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Strategy: Set yearly goals for the SMT equipment engineering department, provide direction, and conduct regular performance evaluations. Accountable for achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and department objectives.

• Equipment Sustaining & Optimization: Oversee the installation, qualification, and operational performance of SMT machines. Drive continuous improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time reduction, and Units Per Hour (UPH) to meet production demands.

• Automation & Innovation: Initiate the development and implementation of standard or new automation solutions using Celestica E2E processes (Business Case, DFAA). Lead hardware/software improvements for automated SMT lines.

• Maintenance & Spare Parts Management: Optimize breakdown preventive maintenance programs. Oversee strategic spare parts management, including Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) reviews and ABC classification for critical items.

• Technical Escalation & NPI: Act as the main point of escalation for complex technical problems on the SMT line. Support machine capability and functions for new product qualification (NPI) and line commissioning/re-layout.

• Vendor & CapEx Management: Lead collaboration and communication with solution providers and external vendors. Support capital planning processes, develop equipment capacity forecasts, and recommend CapEx plans. Manage Statement of Work (SOW), RFQ, and PR issues.

• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure standard machine procedures, Preventive Maintenance (PM) documentation, and PFMEA reviews are properly maintained and updated.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Power Engineering.

• Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in SMT Equipment Engineering, Machine Maintenance, or a similar manufacturing environment, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on knowledge and deep technical skills in SMT processes (Screenprint, API, Pick & Place, Reflow Oven).

• Analytical Skills: In-depth understanding of OEE, UPH, PFMEA, and data-driven troubleshooting.

• Leadership & Soft Skills: Strong leadership, good logical thinking, flexibility, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

• Location: Ability to work full-time at Laem Chabang, Chonburi.
