[Bangchak] Senior Business Development (Energy & Logistics Platform)

This role is expected to bring deep industry expertise and networks across oil refineries, oil terminals, pipelines, and marine transportation—covering domestic distribution, import, and export logistics. The position will play a critical role in identifying, structuring, and scaling platform businesses that enhance BCP’s value chain, optionality, and regional competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities


Strategy & Opportunity Development


· Identify and originate strategic investment and M&A opportunities across energy logistics and downstream infrastructure, including:


o Crude and product storage in refineries and independent terminals


o Oil terminals (onshore, offshore, and floating storage)


o Pipeline systems (crude and product)


o Marine transportation (coastal, domestic, and international import/export)


· Assess opportunities to build integrated logistics platforms that strengthen supply security, cost efficiency, and trading flexibility.


· Evaluate new business models related to storage optimization, blending, throughput services, shared infrastructure, and third-party logistics (TP).


Commercial & Financial Analysis


Lead in-depth commercial, operational, and financial feasibility studies, incorporating:

  • Capacity utilization and throughput economics
  • Tariff structures, take-or-pay and throughput agreements
  • Oil loss, demurrage, marine risk, and regulatory constraints
  • Synergy with BCP’s refining, trading, and marketing businesses


Build and review advanced financial models, including IRR, NPV, Payback, sensitivity analysis, and downside risk scenarios.

Deal Execution & Partnership

  • Drive end-to-end execution of M&A, joint ventures, and strategic investments—from deal origination and negotiation to due diligence, structuring, and closing.
  • Lead negotiations with oil companies, terminal operators, pipeline owners, shipping companies, and third-party logistics providers in Thailand.
  • Structure partnership and commercial frameworks (JV, long-term throughput, shared storage, capacity reservation, service agreements).

Integration & Platform Scaling

  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, Trading, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless post-investment integration and value capture.
  • Support the design and execution of growth roadmaps for acquired or invested assets.
  • Lead pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives prior to full-scale commercialization.

Leadership & Governance

  • Prepare investment papers, strategic recommendations, and risk assessments for senior management and investment committees.
  • Contribute to building the Business Development / New Venture platform capability, including processes, governance, and talent development.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Development, M&A, Corporate Strategy, Investment, or Commercial roles within:
  • Oil & gas companies
  • Refining and trading businesses
  • Oil terminals, pipelines, shipping, or energy logistics operators
  • Infrastructure or energy-focused advisory / consulting firms

Industry Expertise (Must-Have)


Deep understanding of Thailand’s oil logistics ecosystem, including:

  • Refinery and terminal storage operations
  • Product and crude pipelines
  • Marine transportation for domestic, import, and export movements


Strong professional network and working relationships with:

  • Oil companies operating in Thailand
  • Terminal operators and pipeline owners
  • Third-party logistics (TP) providers and marine operators


Practical knowledge of regulatory, permitting, and operational constraints in the Thai energy logistics sector.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring capabilities.
  • Proven negotiation skills with senior counterparts and JV partners.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.
  • Commercially driven, analytical, and comfortable with complex, asset-heavy investments.
  • Excellent communication skills in Thai and English.
