We develop operational software platforms used by public sector agencies including police departments and municipal authorities. Our systems support mission-critical operations and are deployed across multiple government environments including on-premise infrastructure and hybrid deployments.

Our platform is currently deployed across multiple locations and integrates with existing government systems and infrastructure. We are looking for a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to help improve reliability, monitoring, and deployment across our growing number of installations.

Role Overview

This role focuses on maintaining and improving infrastructure reliability across distributed deployments. The engineer will work across both Linux and Windows Server environments, supporting production systems deployed in hybrid on-premise and hosted environments.

The ideal candidate enjoys diagnosing real-world infrastructure problems, automating operational tasks, and improving the stability of production systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support production infrastructure across multiple deployments
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure incidents in Linux and Windows Server environments
• Implement centralized monitoring and logging across deployments
• Improve system observability and operational visibility
• Automate deployment and configuration of application servers
• Implement automated recovery and service health monitoring
• Improve backup, update, and patch management processes
• Document infrastructure architecture and operational playbooks
• Work closely with software engineers to ensure stable production systems

Required Skills

• Strong Linux system administration experience
• Strong experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments
• Experience troubleshooting production systems and infrastructure incidents
• Familiarity with Windows services, Event Viewer, and system diagnostics
• Experience with networking fundamentals (firewalls, routing, VPNs)
• Experience operating distributed or multi-site systems

Nice to Have

• Experience working in hybrid infrastructure environments (on-premise + cloud)
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
• Experience with centralized monitoring and logging systems
• Experience with containerization technologies
• Experience supporting systems in regulated or security-sensitive environments

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Within the first 6 months, the engineer will:

• Implement centralized monitoring across all deployments
• Improve infrastructure documentation and visibility
• Standardize deployment and upgrade processes
• Reduce recurring infrastructure incidents
