About the role
Soho Hospitality is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and service-oriented Sommelier to lead and elevate the wine experience across its portfolio of premium dining and nightlife venues, including internationally recognized concepts such as Above Eleven, Charcoal Tandoor Fire Grill, and other luxury hospitality brands. The Sommelier will be responsible for curating wine programs, driving beverage revenue, delivering exceptional guest experiences, conducting staff training, managing inventory, and building strong supplier relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Wine Service
- Provide exceptional wine service and personalized recommendations based on guests' preferences, cuisine, occasion, and budget.
- Recommend and execute food-and-wine pairings that complement each venue's culinary concept.
- Conduct professional wine presentations, decanting, and tableside service according to luxury hospitality standards.
- Build strong relationships with guests and create memorable dining experiences.
- Handle wine-related guest inquiries and feedback professionally.
Wine Program Development
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve wine lists across Soho Hospitality venues.
- Source and evaluate new wines, vintages, and beverage products.
- Maintain a balanced and commercially viable wine portfolio across premium, mid-range, and accessible selections.
- Work closely with Culinary and Operations teams to develop wine pairing menus and seasonal beverage promotions.
- Monitor wine industry trends and recommend new products and concepts.
Sales & Commercial Performance
- Drive wine and beverage sales through effective recommendations, upselling, and guest engagement.
- Increase average beverage spend per guest and overall beverage revenue.
- Promote premium wines, reserve labels, and special beverage offerings.
- Support wine dinners, tasting events, brand activations, and promotional campaigns.
- Contribute to outlet and company revenue targets through strategic beverage initiatives.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Manage wine inventory, ordering, stock rotation, and cellar organization.
- Conduct regular stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
- Minimize wastage, breakage, spoilage, and inventory variances.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of wines and premium beverages.
- Monitor beverage costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Finance teams on procurement and inventory control.
Training & Team Development
- Develop and deliver structured wine training programs for restaurant teams.
- Train staff on wine fundamentals, food & wine pairing, wine service standards, upselling techniques, and beverage knowledge.
- Coach and mentor Restaurant Managers, Supervisors, Bartenders, and Service Teams.
- Support beverage training and onboarding for new employees.
- Promote a culture of beverage excellence across Soho Hospitality venues.
Supplier & Industry Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wine importers, distributors, and suppliers.
- Participate in supplier tastings, product evaluations, and industry events.
- Work with suppliers to secure promotional support and staff training opportunities.
- Stay updated on market developments and emerging beverage trends.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with Thai alcohol regulations and licensing requirements.
- Promote responsible alcohol service.
- Follow Soho Hospitality SOPs, service standards, and operational policies.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, hygiene, and workplace safety.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sommelier, Senior Sommelier, or Senior Beverage Professional.
- Hotel experience is required.
- Experience in luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, premium hospitality venues, or Michelin-starred establishments is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in wine sales, guest engagement, wine program management, inventory control, and team training.
- Experience in an upscale international restaurant environment is highly desirable.
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Management, Wine Studies, or a related field is preferred.
Professional Certifications – Preferred
- WSET Level 2 or Level 3
- Certified Sommelier
- Certified Wine Professional (CWP)
- Other internationally recognized wine qualifications

- International wine regions and appellations
