The Senior Accounting Officer (Accounts Payable) is responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant recording of financial transactions.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting month-end closing, and ensuring alignment between accounting records and actual payments. The position will also collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure proper documentation, cost allocation, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full accounts payable (AP) process, including invoice verification, recording, and payment processing

Ensure all AP transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported with documentation

Perform 3-way matching (Purchase Order, Goods Receipt, Invoice) where applicable

Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., HR, Operations, Procurement) to ensure completeness and accuracy of payment requests

Prepare and process payment runs in accordance with company policies and payment schedules

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Maintain proper filing and documentation of all AP-related transactions for audit purposes

Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and account reconciliation

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company internal controls

Assist in mapping and allocating expenses to correct departments (e.g., PC1 / PC2 / SG&A)

Coordinate with Finance team to ensure alignment between accounting records and payroll/payment data

Support external and internal audits by preparing required documentation and explanations

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting

Experience in e-commerce, retail, or fast-paced business environments is an advantage

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles

Experience with accounting systems (e.g., ERP, accounting software)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, reconciliation, data analysis)

Understanding of tax regulations (e.g., withholding tax, VAT) is preferred
