Job Title: Estimating Administrator (Precision Machining / Aerospace – Remote)

Location: Remote (International)

Supporting UK-based Estimating Team

Reporting To: Estimating Manager (UK)

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Administrator to

support our estimating function within a precision subcontract machining and

aerospace environment.

This role is suited for:

• An experienced estimator/administrator looking to work remotely within a

high-precision engineering business, or

Working closely with the UK-based Estimating Manager, you will contribute to the

preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for precision-manufactured

components and assemblies. You will be supported and developed within the role,

with increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings (2D/3D), GD&T, and

specifications

• Assist in preparing cost estimates and quotations for machined components

and assemblies

• Source pricing for:

o Raw materials (aluminium, steels, titanium, aerospace alloys)

o Subcontract processes (anodising, heat treatment, coatings, NDT,

etc.)

• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations

• Compile structured and accurate customer quotes

• Support development of cost models (machining time, materials,

processes)

• Maintain quotation records, cost databases, and supplier pricing• Collaborate daily with the UK team via Microsoft Teams and shared systems

• Work to deadlines supporting RFQs and tender submissions

Candidate Profile

We are open to candidates at different experience levels, provided there is a strong

technical foundation and willingness to learn.

Applicants are required to demonstrate good to excellent spoken English ability.

Experienced Candidates

• Proven experience in:

o Estimating within precision machining / subcontract manufacturing

o Aerospace or high-spec engineering environments (preferred)

• Strong understanding of:

o CNC machining processes (turning, milling)

o Materials and subcontract processes

o Costing and quotation preparation

• Ability to independently manage complex RFQs

Essential Technical Requirements (All Candidates)

• Engineering qualification or equivalent experience:

o Mechanical / Manufacturing / Aerospace Engineering

• Ability to read and interpret:

o Engineering drawings

o Tolerances and technical specifications

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

IT & Systems

• Proficient in: o Microsoft Excel (essential)

o Microsoft Office

o Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)

o Microsoft Teams

• Comfortable working in a fully remote, digital environment

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (desirable)

Personal Attributes

• Highly organised and methodical

• Strong communication skills in English

• Self-motivated and able to work independently

• Proactive and willing to take ownership

• Interested in precision engineering and continuous learning

Working Arrangement

• Fully remote (based outside the UK)

• Working hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday

• Expected working pattern aligned with UK operations, typically:

o 08:00 – 16:30 (UK time), Monday to Thursday

o 08:00 – 15:30 (UK time), Friday

• Flexibility required to ensure regular overlap with UK (GMT/BST) working

hours

• Daily collaboration via Microsoft Teams and shared systems

Contract Type & Payment Terms

• This role is offered on a self-employed contractor basis

• The successful candidate will:

o Be responsible for managing their own taxes, social security, and

statutory obligations in their country of residenceo Provide the UK-based company with a monthly invoice for services

rendered

• This is a business-to-business engagement, not a direct employment

contract

Training & Development

• Structured support from UK Estimating Manager

• Opportunity to develop:

o Technical costing expertise

o Knowledge of aerospace and precision manufacturing

o Supplier and subcontractor management

• Clear progression toward a full Estimator role

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Experience within AS9100 / aerospace standards

• Exposure to CNC machining or shopfloor processes

• Familiarity with CAD or drawing viewers
