Position: Engineer Staff, Industrial Location: Lumentum Thailand - Navanakorn, Pathum Thani Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Staff Industrial Engineer to lead productivity, capacity, cost, and manufacturing-efficiency improvements within Lumentum's optical and photonic manufacturing operations. This role serves as a senior technical expert, partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, NPI, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality teams to optimize production systems, improve resource utilization, and support business growth. Key Responsibilities Capacity & Resource Planning Develop capacity models for manpower, equipment, space, and production requirements. Analyze demand, production constraints, and utilization to support capacity and investment decisions. Identify bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions to improve production flow. Support workforce planning, headcount requirements, and equipment justification. Productivity & Operational Excellence Lead productivity, labor-efficiency, cycle-time, and cost-reduction initiatives. Conduct time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and standardized-work analysis. Optimize manufacturing layouts, material flow, workstation design, and resource utilization. Establish and monitor productivity standards and operational KPIs. Lead Lean Manufacturing, waste-reduction, and continuous-improvement projects. NPI & Manufacturing Readiness Support new product introduction, process transfer, production ramp-up, and manufacturing-readiness reviews. Define manpower, equipment, capacity, space, and layout requirements for new products. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure production systems are scalable, efficient, and cost-effective. Data Analysis & Technical Leadership Develop analytical models, dashboards, and business cases to support operational decisions. Present capacity, productivity, cost, and investment recommendations to management. Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineers and cross-functional teams. Lead complex, cross-functional improvement projects from planning through implementation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operational excellence. Experience in optical, photonic, semiconductor, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing is preferred. Strong experience in capacity planning, time study, line balancing, layout design, labor modeling, and productivity improvement. Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, value-stream mapping, and problem-solving methodologies. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data-visualization or analytical tools. Experience supporting NPI, manufacturing transfer, capital investment, and production ramp-up. Strong project leadership, business acumen, and cross-functional influencing skills. Good command of written and spoken English.
