About the role

You will be part of the Road Logistics team, adding your leadership expertise and skills to the delivery of customer and technology transformation and talent development. Your primary objective will be to lead your team in collaboration with the global and regional matrix organisation to achieve all agreed financial and operational objectives, working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will oversee and manage business activities to achieve business goals, to position the company as the provider of choice, increasing market share and exploring untapped territories.

Key responsibilities

Develop new business opportunities, including tender analysis, solution design, and pricing, engaging specialist and operational teams to deliver in accordance with agreed customer service levels and within financial targets

• Monitor market trends and competitor activity, identifying opportunities while developing and nurturing the carrier base

• Deliver operational excellence across the business unit, continuously optimizing operations by implementing standard processes and best practices

• Be actively involved in motivating and leading the team across a range of people related activities

• Liaise with customers, managing feedback in a manner that provides explanations, puts the customer at ease and demonstrates that the right corrective actions are put in place to prevent reoccurrence

• Review customer new business targets and shipment activity with internal and external customers to ensure trading is in line with targets and various booster campaigns

• Consult with key stakeholders to ensure they are pursuing customer opportunities with competitive proposals in line with capabilities

• Ensure new customers are being on-boarded seamlessly and the company is delivering as promised

• Regularly consult with key stakeholders and customers to review progress, ensuring a focus on continuous improvement and high customer retention rates

• Evolve customer relationships, forming trust and deeper relationships to enable new opportunities

About you

• Strong leadership skills and knowledge of the Road Logistics freight forwarding market

• Strong knowledge in cross border operations in freight forwarding

• Experience in managing P&L / operations costing and etc

• Customer and stakeholder relationship management experience
