The K Agro-innovate Institute (KAI), established in 2021 under the Kasikornthai Foundation with unwavering support from KASIKORNBANK, serves as a knowledge integrator dedicated to finding sustainable solutions for the critical issue of watershed forest depletion in Nan province, Thailand. KAI aims to increase per-rai income, reduce cultivation areas, and boost farmers' revenues—all while fostering harmony between human communities and forests.
In collaboration with Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Nan, KAI is dedicated to transforming Thailand’s rich biodiversity into world-class innovations that benefit people, communities, and the environment. Through our Pharma-Agroforestry District (PAD), we integrate cutting-edge research with sustainable agroforestry to unlock the potential of medicinal plants, create high-value natural products, strengthen rural livelihoods, and help restore the Nan watershed forests. We have established Pharma-Agro Innovation Center (PIC) equipped with advanced technologies to provide advanced extraction, phytopharmaceutical analysis, and quality assurance services that support research excellence and elevate Thai medicinal plants to international standards.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to join our team in the role of Plant Manager Pharma-Agro Innovation Center (PIC) in Nan Province.
Role Summary:
The Plant Manager, Pharma-Agro Innovation Center (PIC) is to lead integrated PIC operations across Phytomass Processing Center (PPC) – Pharma-Agro Extraction Services (PES) – Pharma-Agro Analysis Laboratory (PAL) to deliver compliant production, laboratory service, facility readiness, and partner-facing site operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute annual, quarterly, and monthly operational plans aligned with the strategic goals of K Agro-Innovate Institute (KAI).
- Lead and integrate manufacturing, quality, laboratory, engineering, facilities, and site support operations to ensure efficient, seamless, and compliant performance.
- Oversee resource allocation, workforce planning, production priorities, equipment readiness, and operational budgets to optimize plant performance.
- Serve as the accountable leader for GMP compliance, quality systems, and regulatory readiness across the plant-based manufacturing facility.
- Lead the resolution and escalation of critical operational issues, including deviations, production delays, quality and safety risks, and partner-related matters.
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with executive leadership, regulatory authorities, universities, research institutions, and strategic partners to support PIC operations and growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Biotechnology, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of leadership experience in plant, manufacturing, laboratory, or production center operations within the pharmaceutical, herbal, nutraceutical, food, biotechnology, or other regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of GMP/GHPP, ISO/IEC 17025, production planning, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional operations and driving operational excellence.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in facility setup, GMP implementation, or quality system development is an advantage.
- Passion for plant-based medicine, natural products, and sustainable development is a plus.
- Willing to relocate and work on-site in Nan province.
