Job Purpose:

The Data Scientist under Persistency Tribe is responsible for understanding business needs, designing and developing practical data, AI, and automation solutions, and supporting their adoption into day-to-day business operations.

This position also supports the transformation roadmap by preparing trusted data, automating high-effort and repetitive processes, generating clearer and more actionable insights, and helping Persistency Tribe staff build confidence in using data, AI, automation, and emerging technologies responsibly.

This role requires a combination of analytical capability, technical execution, business understanding, and user adoption support

Responsibilities:

Understand Business Problems and Shape Use Cases

• Work with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Project Managers, and business users to understand manual processes, repetitive tasks, control points, handoffs, and pain points that can be simplified, automated, or redesigned.

• Translate business problems into practical data, analytics, AI, or automation use cases.

• Contribute ideas for new AI, technology, analytics, and automation initiatives aligned with Persistency Tribe priorities and transformation principles.

• Support prioritization of use cases by assessing business value, feasibility, data availability, complexity, and adoption readiness.

• Help define expected outcomes, success measures, user requirements, and practical implementation considerations.

Build Data, AI, and Automation Solutions

• Build and support practical tools for real business use cases, including prediction models, GenAI tools, text-to-SQL solutions, exception detection, data validation routines, dashboards, workflow automation, and scripts that reduce recurring manual effort.

• Support GenAI-assisted commentary and management narrative preparation by validating source data, checking consistency, and ensuring outputs are grounded in approved and reliable information.

• Test, validate, and refine outputs to ensure accuracy, usability, and business relevance before deployment or user release.

Drive Adoption and Train Users

• Help Persistency Tribe users build confidence in using data, AI, automation tools, dashboards, and GenAI solutions safely and effectively.

• Support preparation of practical training materials covering AI, data, analytics, automation, dashboards, GenAI usage, and responsible technology adoption.

• Assist in user clinics, demos, training sessions, knowledge-sharing activities, and hands-on support to improve adoption of new tools and ways of working.

• Create simple user guides, FAQs, use-case examples, prompt examples, and do-and-don't guidance for responsible AI and technology usage.

• Track usage, adoption, feedback, and pain points to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Support change champions and business users in embedding new tools and solutions into regular business processes.

Collaborate, Govern, and Document

• Maintain clear documentation for datasets, automation logic, analytical assumptions, model outputs, GenAI prompts, testing results, user guides, and solution handover materials.

• Support documentation required for usage tracking, auditability, data governance, AI governance, model governance, and responsible AI controls.

• Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Project Managers, Data Science, IT, Risk, Compliance, and business users to ensure deliverables are understood, adopted, and embedded into business processes.

• Participate in knowledge-sharing activities to uplift data, technology, automation, and AI capability of tribe members.

Continuous Improvement and Capability Uplift

• Identify opportunities to improve existing reports, processes, workflows, automation tools, analytical outputs, and user experiences.

• Support the standardization and reuse of data assets, analytical logic, automation components, prompt templates, and training materials.

• Stay informed about practical developments in analytics, automation, GenAI, and emerging technologies that may benefit Persistency Tribe transformation.

• Contribute to a culture of experimentation, responsible innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Experience in insurance, finance, actuarial, agency, persistency, conservation, campaign, or customer analytics.

• Experience in transformation, product development, consulting, or business improvement initiatives where the candidate helped build a solution and drive user adoption.

• Knowledge of finance reporting, FP&A, controllership, actuarial processes, or insurance business operations.

• Experience with automation tools, self-service analytics platforms, workflow tools, or low-code/no-code platforms.

• Experience supporting GenAI use cases, prompt design, AI-assisted reporting, or data-driven narrative generation.

• Experience helping users through change, conducting training, preparing user guides, or supporting adoption of new tools.

• Familiarity with data governance, AI governance, model governance, information security, or audit requirements.
