About the role
Commercial Risk Analyst responsible for price risk management for crude/feedstock, petroleum products, and petrochemical products. The role involves analyzing market information, conducting hedging strategies, managing trade processes, and reporting to various committees to comply with risk management policies.
Key responsibilities
Gather market information and analyze price trends in both fundamental and technical views, including demand/supply balance, planned and unplanned shutdowns, trade flow, seasonality, and forward price analysis
- Conduct hedging strategy and propose to Value Chain Management Committee (VMC) to get management approval, and explore/monitor opportunities to execute to minimize price risk
- Manage all trade processes including full confirmation, internal approval process to sign contract, and settlement including liaising between finance team and counterparties
- Prepare and report hedging progress/results to Value Chain Management Committee (VCM), Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) monthly, and Risk Management Committee (RMC) weekly, monthly and quarterly
- Liaise with Bank of Thailand (BOT) through Commercial Bank to get approval on commodity hedging and quarterly report to comply with money transfer monitoring control and regulation
- Manage International Swaps and Derivatives Association Schedule (ISDA Schedule) negotiation with new counterparties to strengthen hedging capability and product portfolio
- Lead and manage ISDA negotiation with counter parties (Banks and Traders) on commodity part to strengthen company hedging capability and portfolio
- Conduct compliance on Know Your Customer (KYC) process to assess all relevant information for counter parties' evaluation and manage information exchange
- Lead negotiation on term and condition with new counterparties to develop mutual ISDA Schedule
- Explore and develop hedging services to PTTGC's subsidiaries through shared service agreement or other contracts
About you
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Chemical Technology, Science, Petroleum/Petrochemical Technology, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or other related fields.
- More than 5 years of experience in the petroleum/petrochemical business, economics, or marketing.
