International Power Business Development – Assistant Manager to Manager

Location focus: Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead origination and development of solar rooftop, solar farm, and wind farm projects across Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia, including greenfield development and M&A opportunities
  • Build and manage project pipeline against annual MW and profitability targets
  • Monitor energy policy, auction mechanisms (e.g., Philippines GEA, Malaysia CGPP/NEM), and market conditions to shape country-specific entry and growth strategy
  • Structure market entry approaches accounting for local foreign-ownership rules and JV/partnership requirements (e.g., Indonesia foreign investment caps, Philippines equity structuring)
  • Build and maintain relationships with government authorities, utilities/offtakers, local developers, landowners, and advisors in target markets
  • Lead financial and investment return analysis; prepare investment papers and presentations for management approval
  • Lead negotiation of project agreements: PPA, EPC, MOU, JDA, SHA, SPA, and JV/partnership agreements
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, and technical teams through due diligence, financing, and financial close
  • Other project development and M&A-related work as required


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Business
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in renewable power project development and/or M&A, with at least 2 deals closed across 2+ of Philippines, Indonesia, or Malaysia
  • Proven experience structuring JV/partnership arrangements to navigate foreign ownership restrictions (e.g., Indonesia, Philippines)
  • Strong financial modeling skills — LCOE, IRR/equity returns, sensitivity and scenario analysis
  • Strong understanding of power project contracts: PPA, EPC, Financing agreements, JDA, SHA, SPA
  • Proven track record originating and closing deals independently, not only supporting execution
  • Excellent MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent investment analytical and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent command of business English; ability to work effectively through local counsel/partners in non-English-speaking markets
  • Able to travelling and work at WHA Tower, Bangna KM 7, close to Mega Bangna
