This is a newly created role. He/she will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the IT competency management initiatives. His/her responsibilities include not only enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of IT personnel to meet both current and future technological challenges but also supporting IT workforce fulfillment management activities.

Role Definition


Responsible for enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of IT personnel, ensuring the workforce is agile, skilled, and fully equipped to meet both current and future technological challenges. Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of competency management initiatives and associated processes, steering learning and development strategies to align with organizational objectives.


Job Description

  1. Develop innovative and comprehensive IT learning and development strategies and roadmaps, including on-the-job training, mentoring programs, and external training opportunities, intrinsically linked to the bank's business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  2. Design, implement, and maintain a competency framework for IT roles within the bank, defining the skills and knowledge expected at various levels.
  3. Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs to address identified skill gaps and equip the IT workforce with the necessary skills to meet emerging technological challenges.
  4. Track and measure training and development programs effectiveness through employee performance evaluations, skill assessments and continuously improve the L&D function to maximize impact on employees’ skills and overall performance.
  5. Work closely with other IT leaders to ensure learning and development initiatives align with the bank's overall business strategy and evolving technological needs.
  6. Identify and maintain high-potential individuals through a culture of continuous learning and encourage reskilling and upskilling within the IT workforce.
  7. Encourage experimentation and continuous improvement within the L&D function, staying abreast of emerging learning technologies and methodologies.
  8. Develop and execute targeted talent acquisition strategies to attract top IT talent. Design and deliver leadership development programs tailored for IT leaders.
  9. Collaborate with IT leadership and hiring managers to identify specific skills and competencies required for new IT roles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering, Computer Science and/or Business Administration.
  • Strong interest in staying abreast of emerging learning technologies and methodologies.
  • Human resources management experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to provide clarity to complex issues and synthesize solutions.
  • Strong organizational, planning and scheduling skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork. He/she must be able to work with people at all levels of the organization in capturing, managing and communicating metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivating, adaptable and able to inspire and motivate others.
  • Prior experience working in a dynamic environment of frequent change desired.
